SENIORITY LEVEL: Experienced, Non-Management Level

FUNCTION: Marketing

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

Our Trade Sales Executives are the face of British American Tobacco Australia and the talent pipeline to the wider business. Equipped with specialist product and brand knowledge, they are consistently engaging with customers and driving our business strategies. It's a great first step into a large FMCG organisation, immediately gaining an outstanding sales experience, customer management, commercial application, marketing strategy and campaign execution.

 

Reports to: Area Manager

Reporting Level: Individual Contributor

Geographic Scope: Local

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Analysing, reporting and interpreting store specific data in order drive sustainable growth
  • Acting as the point of reference for external stakeholders by engaging in commercial conversations and negotiations
  • Building strong mutually beneficial relationships with retailers and be able to maintain a strong business focus and consumer understanding
  • Utilising category management principles to maximise the impact of our brands to consumers
  • Educating retailers on product and category knowledge as well as on contractual obligations
  • Ensuring execution of marketing strategies and campaigns for all retailers are achieved within your territory
  • Owning performance across the territory and maintain strong retailer relationships achieving sales targets
  • Continually developing your skill sets in line with the changing industry & regulatory environment

 

CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?

  • Experience in FMCG for at least 2 years or previous experience as Trade Sales Executive or similar

 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Business Degree or 2-3 years' experience in sales/marketing
  • Demonstrate customer focus with comprehensive communication skills
  • Strong selling, negotiation and objection handling skills
  • Solid time management, territory management, organisational and administration skills to self-manage, develop discipline, be flexible and coachable
  • Embracing a ‘can do attitude’, teamwork, resilience and initiative
  • Valid state Driver's License and safe driving record
