Our Next Generation Products are already leading the way in the Industry of vapour and tobacco heating devices.  Our revolutionary closed-vapour system, ePen3, was voted Product of the Year (POTY) for 2019 by consumers, beating several international competitors in a highly challenging category.  We continue to develop a solid portfolio of consumer solutions which already include well known global brands like Vype, Glo and Voke. Our portfolio includes our world-famous Global Drive Brands – Dunhill, Kent, Lucky Strike, Pall Mall and Rothmans.

 We are currently looking for a Field Sales Executive to cover the area Central & South Birmingham who is also willing to move across the UK based on the business need.

The Role

To succeed as a Field Sales Executive in British American Tobacco (BAT) you will need to be able to

  • Be mobile across the territory and country based on the business need
  • Work independently and effectively manage your workload
  • Quickly adapt to challenge and changes
  • Develop a trade marketing and distribution plan for your assigned territory and execute the plan with excellence to ensure that it meets all its objectives (brand, volume, distribution, trials and instore marketing objectives). 
  • Build strong mutually beneficial relationships with retailers and be able to maintain a strong business focus and consumer understanding
  • Plan, prioritise and organise your own work and monitor progress vs target to ensure objectives are delivered on time and in full
  • Interpret and analyse basic data to form effective plans

Principle Accountabilities

Business Accountabilities:

  • Deliver distribution and implement marketing activities on time in full, including securing distribution of new products
  • Develop and implement plans that drive volume & share growth of BAT brands with maximum ROI
  • Encourage sell out by running local activities that educate retail partners on marketing levers

Operational Accountabilities:

  • Complete business processes on time in full; ensure accuracy of information and data
  • Efficiently manage business and financial assets (vehicle, IT, materials, stock (if applicable), cash, budgets)
  • Gather and report on any competitor activity or intelligence

Shopper Accountabilities:

  • Minimize Out of Stocks and protect product quality and freshness
  • Build retailer advocacy through education and rewards to drive awareness and trial for BAT brands in Tobacco and NGP

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Develop and leverage effective working relationships by giving assistance, advice and support on total FMCG market in traditional and nontraditional channels
  • Leverage targeted retail investment to drive growth of BAT brands with maximum ROI
  • Ensure compliance to trading agreements across the territory
  • Analyse Sales Out data to enable business conversations in Trade to grow BAT brands

Package

  • Up to £29,000 starting salary
  • Bonus potential of up to 30% of annual salary

Essential requirements

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • A full valid UK driving license
  • Live within a 1hour commute from home to base territory
  • Previous experience that includes transferable skills to a Field Sales role.  Field sales experience is not necessary but could be an advantage
  • IT skills – basic use of the following packages: word, excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft outlook
  • Preferably graduate, or of graduate calibre, with potential and desire to progress within the company.
