The Role

To succeed as a Demand & Supply Manager in BAT you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring uninterrupted supply of the cross-category Finished Goods portfolio (Combustibles and PRRP) from source of manufacturing to end market warehouses based on the demand forecast and agreed inventory holding targets for UK, Ireland and Channel Islands
  • Driving process improvements to cater for changing demand patterns and business needs and help improve reporting capabilities

 

Principle Accountabilities

  • Ensure monthly demand forecast is validated based on stock on hand and SKU transitions are reflected correctly prior to SAP APO upload
  • Ensure that weekly & monthly supply planning rhythm is adhered to by end market team with agreed in/outputs and that end market team follows the supply service center agreed drum beats
  • Manage to achieve 100% product availability by monitoring of stocks, sales, next deliveries, regular stakeholder meetings and pro-active review of durations and potential issues in the mid-term & trigger remedial actions or escalate to appropriate levels
  • Manage stock durations to agreed stock holding policies with supply service center and pro-actively manage over/under to avoid either out-of-stock or obsolescence / write-offs
  • Manage cross functional communications between SP&I, Trade and Brand, staying on top of latest developments to enable issue resolution and early planning
  • Regularly review stock holding policy with supply service center on a frequent basis, agreeing on changes and making recommendations
  • Ensure all product despatched is of the required product quality standard and meets the requirements of both the internal and external supply chain in terms of product identification, labelling, health warnings etc
  • Work in close co-operation with Brand Managers & RNPI to deliver Brand Marketing plans through the management of all aspects of the primary supply chain, including the Nexus process, E-graphics and seek to establish a joint plan to minimise FGs and material write-offs
  • Actively seek for process improvements and increase reporting and data management capabilities aiding increased stock availability and increased inventory health
  • Manage key elements of the secondary manufacturing process including the forecasting and procurement of materials and the provision of a three-monthly production forecast to Logistics

 

Essential Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Extensive experience in FMCG supply chain management / Supply Planning management
  • Business planning acumen and ability to challenge status-quo and identify process improvements
  • Excellent understanding of the Company business planning and NPI processes
  • Excellent knowledge of ERP and related systems
  • Good product knowledge both combustibles and NGP (a nice to have)
  • Excellent overall business awareness and an understanding of the inter-relationships between each function
  • Good negotiation skills
