Transforming tobacco through Potentially Reduced Risk Products (PRRPs) plays a key role in BAT’s strategy. BAT and the whole industry is entering the most dynamic period of change in recent years.
Our consumers are more and more used to individualized, targeted activation with an increasing importance of digital channels and direct to consumer marketing models.

The role of Own eCommerce Associate Manager is to offer support and drive enhancements on the global digital platforms - eCommerce & websites to deliver capability within the Global eCommerce function.


Our new colleague will also ensure that these digital capabilities are reflected in today’s and tomorrow’s digital commerce strategy development and its deployment and to establishing global eCommerce understanding and driving the details to aid the development capability in End Markets across key brands in New Categories

Key Accountabilities




  • Contribute, own and have a deep understanding on the digital development pipeline supporting the strategy for all online eCommerce and brand executions including the planning and operational involvement with the development agency.
  • Engage with agencies, internal IT stakeholders to execute and implement digital functionality and initiatives to increase and contribute directly to the consumer journeys as per the Acquisition, Conversion and Retention model.
  • Engage with the End Markets digital eCommerce team to understand their local requirements for digital functionality enhancements
  • Actively working in partnership with IT stakeholders to discuss functionality, logic, requirements and review of documents functionality in ticketing systems – Azure Dev Op’s
  • Review of acceptance criteria and user testing for globally developed functionality
  • Review and contribution to website UX developed to support digital functionality development
  • Closely collaborate with the end markets and assess / support their deployment process.
  • Ensure roll-out plans for digital development are in line with end market launch plans.
  • Identify new trends and opportunities within the digital landscape.




  • Learn and partner with key global stakeholders and End Market engagement to build stronger digital commerce capabilities within the BAT landscape.
  • Partner with the Brand teams and agencies to activate the digital development on the digital platforms and ensure best in class site innovation.
  • Collaborate with the IT team for the the digital eCommerce website development, maintenance and operations.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience



  • Educated to degree level with focus on Marketing, ideally at Masters level
  • Extensive years of Digital marketing / eCommerce / digital development (technical understanding over coding) experience with a track record of developing and maintaining a digital platform.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experienced within the regulatory digital landscape
  • Previous experience in Brand Marketing with exposure to Brand Activation/ Shopper Marketing will be desirable
  • Understands the technology linked to the digital commerce platforms
  • Strong analytical mindset coupled with good instinct
  • Creativity alongside ability to challenge, think and do things differently
  • Credible communicator
  • Has ability to drive and own responsibilities
  • Has proven track record of leadership, stakeholder management, collaboration, and driving change across a matrix organization and among diverse cultures
