British American Tobacco Algeria is looking for a Quality and Assurance Manager for our factory in Oran.


He will be directly reporting to the Operations Manager and will have the responsibility to ensure the effective delivery of finished product quality as perceived by the consumer, through the efficient management of its supporting processes and services at all stages in the production and supply chain.



Key accountabilities:


  • Determine acceptability or rejection of all suspect products via analysis and investigation and take appropriate actions to resolve the problems and ensure defective product does not reach consumer.
  • Plan, coordinate and promote all production related quality activities, with focus on meeting consumer requirements and the outcomes expected within the company plan.
  • Provide accurate, relevant and timely product and process quality information in support of decision making relating to production throughout the supply chain.
  • Responsible for the personnel of the Quality Assurance Function to assure product quality over the production shifts. 
  • Provide analysis, feedback and reports on the daily collected data in the lab and from the production floor
  • Provide calculations of Manufacturing, Product and Retail Quality Indices for global reporting
  • Identify quality improvement opportunities through the provision of diagnostic information to Production and Technical Functions.
  • Inform and Support Technology and Process Improvement Supervisor on projects and continual improvement.
  • Inform, Support and Provide all necessary information to the Quality System supervisor for quality audits to assure compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Support materials, process, testing and projects to Product Development Supervisor when required
  • Plan, coordinate and promote all Incoming Materials Inspection Activities.
  • Provide training to Manufacturing and Quality team in Production Quality Techniques (e.g. FPI,) and product standards to support Process and product-based Quality.
  • Implement and maintain a calibration programme for the QA lab equipment.
  • Manage the infestation monitoring programme for the factory and any other designated premises under BAT management or control.
  • Responsible for continunial development of QA pipeline for future in terms of production
  • Responsible for performance review of his team.



Key Requirements :


  • Military card.
  • Engineering degree or similar diploma in Quality, biology, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience with minimum of 2 years in a similar position.
  • Managerial experience needed.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Good knowledge of system.
  • Leadership skills with the capacity to influence within and across departments and levels of the organisation
  • High knowledge of inspection, test methods of cigarette manufacturing


Nice to have:


  • Thorough knowledge of cigarette manufacturing technology
  • Good level of personnel and resource management skills ( i.e people, equipment and process)
  • Awareness and understanding of latest developments in Production Quality Management techniques.
  • Knowledge of analysis, problem solving and techniques (including SPC, brainstorming, fishbone diagrams).
  • Inter-personal skills, communication, persuasiveness, assertiveness and negotiation through the organization
