Procurement is a global line organization that delivers direct and indirect procurement to Operations and Commercial, with above market management of categories and suppliers. The role of Senior Sourcing Manager is critical in delivering required services to enable delivery of business benefits. High exposure to business-critical decision by providing relevant input, services and analysis.


We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sourcing Manager (12 months) to join our NWEA Procurement team. The main purpose of the Senior Sourcing Manager role will be the execution of End market category “Sourcing to Contract” specifically:

  • Source to contract (sourcing plan, tender, negotiate and contract)
  • Spend and compliance reporting
  • Commercial risk management
  • Contract Management
  • Support execution of global sourcing, where required, and facilitate the implementation of above-market projects
  • Act as the interface with the local stakeholders ensuring the delivery of both their service requirements and those of Procurement
  • Ensures contracts are in place which fulfil the customer requirements whilst also meeting the needs of the business
  • Selects the right suppliers and puts contingency suppliers in place to manage risk on behalf of the business




  • To understand customer requirements including their business goals to be able to deliver business benefits
  • Responsible for the development and execution of sourcing plans within the End Market/Cluster
  • To support the execution of global sourcing, where required
  • To ensure the end market/cluster category sourcing and contracts meet the business requirements through the execution of the strategic sourcing process.
  • To manage the stakeholder relationship for the sourcing activities in scope
  • To apply global policies, standards and platforms including the agreed Sourcing Management methodology and approach and to deliver robust terms and conditions that manages BAT’s service delivery and commercial risk.


  • To build long term business relationships with the internal stakeholders
  • To challenge demand and requirements and manage customer expectations to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement
  • To communicate appropriate supply chain and procurement messages regarding strategies, process and policies to customers, to ensure compliance and engender a common understanding of each other’s goals and targets




Experience & Knowledge

  • Thorough knowledge of supply market, supplier capabilities and competitor activity, and expected trends at a local level.
  • Proven capability of applying supplier management techniques to ensure contracted benefits are delivered.
  • Supplier and contract management experience.
  • Detailed understanding of financial evaluation and interpretation of supplier’s records and their key cost and business drivers.
  • Full understanding of the category total cost model, cost drivers and all factors needed to ensure a robust agreement for BAT (including specification and testing requirements).
  • Understanding of the processes, timelines and constraints for the development and delivery of new products.
  • Professional knowledge of procurement principals, including high order negotiation skills.
  • Sound knowledge of corporate regulations and legislation to ensure the creation of effective group contracts.
  • Experience of sourcing (in Procurement) at a local level for a period of 5 years minimum.
  • Understanding of the IWS processes.

  • University degree required
  • Relevant business qualification. CIPS Corporate Diploma in Purchasing and/or membership of The Chartered Institute for Purchasing and Supply or equivalent country qualificationn or membership would be an advantage
