PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • To act as an extension of the Regional Corporate Finance team by ensuring timely preparation of financial forecasts, reports and commentaries to facilitate Regional strategy review;
    • Facilitate Budgeting and Financial Forecasting process by managing the delivery of financial information and scenarios required for Regional Sales &Operations Planning meetings, Regional Quarterly Progress Reviews, and the various processes as defined in the Integrated Business Planning and Performance Management framework (via Business Objects Planning & Consolidation system), in line with the agreed service level agreements with the Regional team;
    • Owns and manages the controllership activities (accounting, treasury and delivery of financial statements for both forecast and statutory) to meet key end market priorities;
    • Ensure timely analysis, identification, communication and resolution of balance sheet account reconciliation issues;
    • Coordinate the monthly accounting closing process with other GBS sub-functions and end market SPOC to ensure proper disclosure of financial information to relevant stakeholders;
    • Support the preparation and delivery OTIF of the control navigator exercise to avoid business disruption arising from control breakdown;
    • Responsible to generate and deliver the cash flow forecast and manage the relationship with various GBS functions to ensure adequate cash availability;
    • Handle accounting policy and procedure inquiries and ad hoc reporting and analysis requests, as well as provide training to stakeholders as and when required;
    • Ensure Regional team’s needs and relationships are fulfilled and enhanced through proactive involvement and interaction;
    • Maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures, support control documentation requirements and Regional risk register updates;
    • Coordinate with the global process owners on the implementation of reporting changes, which includes submission of comprehensive business specifications where technology enhancements are required, providing training and user testing resources to test enhancements;
    • Understand the functionality, interfaces, and interdependencies of the financial processes and systems; ensure the existence of adequate internal controls;
    • Attend to ad-hoc requests or queries from stakeholders within the Region;
    • Provide support as and when needed to assist line manager in overseeing day-to-day operations or to manage transformation projects.

 

CORE RELATIONSHIPS

  • Finance Business partners & specialist finance teams- collaborate to provide end to end finance delivery for the Regional Finance team;
  • Global Business Services (GBS)- Collaborate closely with other teams within GBS to provide high quality, timely management information to the business;
  • Regional Corporate Finance team, Regional Marketing Finance team, Regional Operations Finance team.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE

  • Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/ Finance or equivalent to the field with professional accountancy qualification (i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA/ ICAEW);
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment;
  • Proficient in accounting standards and able to apply relevant skills and knowledge to act as business partners;
  • A thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically BI/BPC, SAP or ERP equivalent;
  • Able to drive projects and process improvements and handle a remote customer base model;
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision;
  • Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls;
  • Able to communicate well in English (both verbal and written).
