Roles description
Based in GBS Romania or Southampton and reporting to Head of Finance as part of the New Categories Corporate Finance Team the role is required take the lead on behalf of corporate finance as part of several cross functional programmes within the new categories function including but not limited to supply chain improvement initiatives, new market launches and new category launches.  The role will ensure accurate corporate and commercial reporting, LRD governance, SoX and NVT SODA compliance in each project and proactively drive and ensure stakeholder management is used to deliver well controlled and governed operations with accurate reported financials.  Additionally, there is a requirement to put in place processes that are absent or to simplify existing processes to increase efficiency.  The role will require an individual to take the lead in driving and implementing such simplification.  The role will be pan regional, multicategory and multi-functional.

Job purpose and deliverables

  • Corporate Finance lead and single point of contract for all cross functional matters or New Category changes ensuring representation on points like LRD governance, SoX, NVT SODA to include but not limited to:
    • Supply chain improvement initiatives – for example shared SKUs, supply chain hubs, in housing or outsourcing supply;
    • New market launches – New category launches across any region or category through all three models, direct distribution, Licence and LRD (First time launch);
    • Functional initiatives – Assessing any centre function changes with respect to LRD, SODA and Corporate finance requirements.
    • New Product Introductions.
  • To take the lead from a corporate finance perspective with respect to stimulants category, working with commercial finance, tax and commercial teams to define the appropriate corporate structure and then to support implementation including, TaO changes, Contract review, financing points and board approvals/documentations updates and all initial launches/supply chain changes. 
  • To partner with Group taxation on items like NVT 10-year rolling forecast review and sensitivity analysis, business cases and financial assessments of first-time market launches comparing licence to LRD.  To deal with all KPMG audit queries with respect to 10 year forecast and investment substantiation.  To support any analysis required by tax to forecast UK effective tax rate.
  • Defining absent processes for example sample accounting process to ensure the capability to clear samples at end market customs, manual workaround reduction, creating a guidebook for market launches with full RACI agreed with Group taxation amongst others
  • Leading the establishment of new entities in the new categories areas currently including Btomorow Ventures Limited, Nicoventures Communications (Switzerland) AG and Nicovations
  • Redrafting of the NVT SODA ensuring consistency to Group SODA, Marketing governance Framework and Regional SODAs, adapting to the changes of the business e.g. introduction of third-party distributions.
  • Responsible for delivery of successful market launches and then embedding launches markets into BAU reporting processes of LRD finance team.
  • Responsible for working with accounting developments manager on any M&A in the new category area to ensure accounting and reporting in accurate form for both Group and local statutory accounts.
  • Responsible for updates to HOF, FD and NVT board with respect to market launches and simplification.
  • Leadership and development – the role will be responsible for managing the development and career planning of 2 direct reports.

Essential requirements

  • Degree educated with professional accountancy qualification (i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • A good understanding of group and corporate finance principles/experience and ability to deliver commercial insights in a rapidly evolving area of the business.
  • Appreciation of taxation consequences as part of financial reporting would be useful: particularly transfer pricing and limited risk distribution models.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of data and present in a simple, innovative and impactful way using all current systems to simplify and automate information management. i.e. SAP/ BI/BPC.
  • BPC/SAP experience 
  • Ability to prioritise and is resilient.
  • Ability to identify process and reporting improvements and proactively implement solutions.
  • Ability to work independently managing stakeholders across a wide range of location and markets.
  • Works as an effective Business Partner with a collaborative and flexible style.  The role will require integration with Commercial Finance, R&D Finance and Operations Finance and end market/regional finance/commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required to influence and challenge.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with all stakeholders and is a team player.
