BAT United Kingdom IS LOOKING FOR A SENIOR CLINICAL RESEARCH MANAGER

SENIORITY LEVEL: Senior Manager

FUNCTION: Scientific Research & Development

SALARY RANGE: from £62,400 to £78,000 per year, depending on relevant experience + excellent benefits + market leading bonus

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

This role is part of Scientific Research & Development - Potentially Reduced Risk Product Science.

The role is responsible for supporting the oversight, outsourcing and project management of clinical studies with new and existing tobacco products consistent with BATs’ Growth, Innovation, and Harm Reduction Platforms.

The incumbent will actively collaborate with the Clinical Studies team, other members of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs, Product Development terms, and senior management regarding the design, oversight and execution of clinical studies and submission of the resulting data.

The individual must be able to independently lead, manage and/or execute multiple projects simultaneously. The Clinical Project Leader will actively partner across functional areas within BAT, Reynolds American International Services (RAIS) and RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company R&D and with external vendors to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Develop and write trial protocols (outlining purpose and methodology) and synopsis
  • Prepare investigation brochure and other documents required to get FDA approval for Investigation Tobacco Product (ITP) application
  • Use the synopsis for request for proposals (RFPs) from Clinical Research Organisations (CROs)
  • Design data collection forms, known as case report forms (CRFs)
  • Coordinate with the ethics committee, to obtain ethical approval for the Human behavioural studies conducted to Good Epidemiological / Good Clinical Practice (GEP/GCP) standards
  • Identify and assess the suitability of facilities to use as the clinical trial site
  • Identify/select an investigator who will be responsible for conducting the trial at the trial site
  • Liaise with doctors, consultants or principal investigators on conducting the trial

 

CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?

  • Do you have a Clinical Project Management qualification?
  • Do you have experience with FDA regulatory submissions?

 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong experience in clinical research, preferably with experience in leading clinical studies
  • Experience with FDA regulatory submissions
  • Demonstrated high level project management skills, especially timeline and team management
  • Ability to drive collaborative efforts cross-functionally and externally with outsourced vendors
  • A passion for new technology and data analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree required in biology, chemistry, toxicology, pharmacy, public health, clinical research, or related discipline; or equivalent experience
  • CCRC, CCRA, CCRP or Project Management certification
