We are recruiting for an Operations GMDM Data Quality & Insights Executive to join the Operations Global Master Data Management (GMDM) team based in Southampton.

 

The DQ&I Executive role is a fundamental part of global data governance and an exciting opportunity for any skilled data professional with an interest in making genuine impact in a massive global company.

 

This is a business focused role which pro-actively manages and analyses the master data environment to support Operation’s global reporting requirements, processes, objectives and governance.

 

Our function ensures the business has high quality data to support a data-driven future at BAT embracing digital tools, analytics and automation. Data governance has never been more important, and this role ensures Ops Master Data is fit for purpose by managing various data quality initiatives, obsolescence processes and providing insights.

 

Context

The Global Master Data Governance (GMDM) organisation ensures high quality Operations Master Data in the ECC SAP system, which is the one source of truth at BAT, enabling the efficient utilisation of operational business processes, for example; planning, manufacturing, selling and procuring. 

 

The DQ&I team sits within the Continuous improvement pillar of GMDM and works across Operations to deliver data insights and supports data governance.

 

 

  Principal role accountabilities

  • Deliver data insights to the business using analytical techniques and visualisation tools.
  • Leading analytical pieces of work across teams
  • Communicate complex findings as business recommendations clearly, coherently to senior stakeholders
  • Monitor the integrity, stability and accuracy of all Material Master Data used in Operations and support continuous improvement initiatives including SLA and KPI calculations, data quality analysis, obsolescence management, root cause analysis, business analysis and impacts plus other identified master data requirements.
  • Deliver the above requirements via the provision of accurate, timely, reports, analysis, and commentary input for the Ops GMDM CI&I Manager the wider master data business community, to manage the business and a continuous improvement culture to deliver data we trust and use as a business enabling asset.
  • Identify trends, gaps and new opportunities in governance and processes surrounding master data administration and standards.

 

 

Essential requirements

 

  • Experience of working with data.
  • Understanding of key data management principles.
  • Highly numerate, analytical and have strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
  • A naturally inquisitive, problem solver
  • Able influence and build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to complete tasks on time and in full without supervision.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills, have a structured/planned approach to work, be able to prioritise tasks and be a natural collaborator.

Desirable requirements

 

  • Experience using analytical/workflow/visualisation tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik etc
  • Experience of working in a system orientated supply chain environment.
  • A good degree of IT or Supply Chain systems literacy.
  • A good understanding of data visualisation.
  • Ability to tell a story with data.
  • A good understanding of SAP Material Master Data and structures. 
  • Experience of FMCG Operations (For example Supply Chain, Manufacturing)
