The role is responsible for supporting an assigned portfolio of projects and activities within the New Categories product portfolio which requires the coordination of internal and external partners in support of product development and compliance.

Reports to: New Categories Program Manager

Core Relationships:

Internal – New Categories R&D teams, Global and Regional/ Local New Product Introduction teams, Global / Regional Product discovery and development teams, R&D Enabling Functions teams, New Categories Supply Chain team, New Categories Quality team.

External -3rd Party suppliers of materials and services.

 

What you will be accountable for:

  • Lead on assigned development and assessment activities (Compliance activities, New Products or Product Modifications) to include New Categories strategy, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Work with technical teams to understand and characterise product performance and improve the accuracy and quality of products developed.
  • Work closely with the New Categories Manager and Senior Product Developers to implement and plan the portfolio.
  • Ensure accurate budget management and tracking for development activities within the assigned responsibilities/projects in the team.
  • Ensure on time and in full delivery of study plans for assessment of new products and/or product modifications.
  • Bring up risks and issues in a timely and appropriate manor.
  • Laboratory management, including risk assessment, equipment and reagent management and full participation with the wider laboratory EH&S community.
  • Deliver customer requirements on time in full for assigned responsibilities to allow commercial objectives to be met.

Essential experience, skills and knowledge

  • Detailed understanding of physical and/or analytical measurement techniques.
  • Modern knowledge of the product development techniques.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of product regulatory compliance.
  • Planning and implementation skills.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence key partners up to senior level.
  • Degree or equivalent in a science or related subject
  • Previous experience of taking a new product to launch.
