We have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Planning Executive to join our Operations Supply Chain function based in Southampton.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

  • To deliver the FG replenishment plan on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • To maintain finished goods stock levels on all storage locations as per the inventory policies individually set for each storage location/SKU.
  • Identify risk / issues through the MPP, WPP and DDS cycle to ensure the effective resolution of:
    • Out of stock (OOS) / Max or min. stock violations (VMI/FFR) / On time in full (OTIF) 
    • Variations to New Product Introduction project timelines and / or demand alignment.
    • To provide feedback and status on End Market Stock build requests.
    • To communicate upcoming exceptional cost and seek relevant approval for execution.
    • To proactively track shipments to customer arrival.
    • Working capital deviations from target.
  • To prepare the Production plan, ensuring it aligns to the distribution requirements whilst meeting the factory capability in the optimum way to support minimal production cost.
  • To highlight and solve internal demand and capacity imbalances and reporting both short and longer-term capacity issues to the SNP planning Manager where potential outsourcing is required.
  • To ensure the short-term plan/schedule can be achieved and that the plan submitted to the factory is fully aligned with materials, crew and capacity availability.
  • To execute distribution model and deployment plans for new/modified product launches/promo campaigns to ensure smooth transition during project changes.
  • To ensure completeness and correctness for Master Data (APO SNP & ECC) and planning parameters.
  • To contribute to regular reviews of inventory policies for finished goods.
  • Adhere to all processes, procedures as per defined Operating model.
  • Drive the continued improvement in Supply planning performance and its interaction with team members and customers through DDS, WPP and MPP meetings/activities.
  • To write, perform and validate test script when required as well as raise change request and perform impact assessment as required.
  • To create and maintain technical documentation; provide training and coaching to End Users on process and system; and support issue resolution where super-user responsibilities are taken on.

 

Context:

 

  • The role has been created through the adoption of the so called “SNO model” whereby there is a distinction between Tactical and Strategic Planning processes. The role is part of the Tactical Planning layer.
  • To support this transformation the SN Planning Hub was established in the UK and shall be responsible of delivering Operation services to AmSSA and other commercial Regions. Working relationships include primarily the UK, Americas and Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • The job holder is responsible to deliver the most optimum supply plan for each of the allocated Factory/ End Market supply chains. Optimum in terms of resource (people & machine) utilisation and lowest possible cost while maintaining agreed service levels and inventory targets whilst supporting the factory productivity targets.
  • The SN Planning Hub serves over 170 customers under different business models, with complex logistical and supply issues, sourcing from 19+factories across the region where integration and standardisation of practices is required in order to realise the SAP benefits.
  • The role requires a strong base in continuous improvement to drive the change management required within the SN Planning Hub in order to deliver sustainable change and the end game Operations vision. The process improvement focuses on operational performance, ensuring that the necessary actions are taken to reduce costs, improve performance & optimise the utilisation of the company’s assets.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

 

  • Relevant experience in FMCGs managing and/or executing planning processes;
  • Good cultural awareness;
  • Good analytical and planning skills;
  • Good organisation and prioritisation skills;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Desirable graduate calibre in business economics or engineering;
  • SAP APO/ERP System knowledge and Excel skills are strong assets;
  • Desirable understanding of Planning processes;
  • Experience in FMCG manufacturing and/or sales is beneficial.
