British American Tobaccohas an exciting opportunity for a Demand Planning Manager in London, UK.
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
The demand planning role is crucial to the success of accurate forecasting across a dynamic industry in the UK. The monitoring and reporting of industry evolution, market share & volume in a timely and accurate manner will be at the forefront of the responsibilities within this position, whilst striving for simplification of processes to improve demand forecasting accuracy.
Demand planning is a central function for the UK market, reporting to Western Europe Planning within the Growth Management area. Our responsibilities are to execute a robust marketing planning process, from understanding market initiatives to determining volume forecasts and identifying risks and opportunities along the way. We deliver high quality and accurate reporting for the Western Europe area, representing UK as an intelligence hub for the Area leadership team, brand marketing functions and end market commercial teams.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Development of high-quality bottom up BAT forecast within responsible categories, which covers industry trends, BAT share performance, activities, price drivers (24-months horizon)
- Clear articulation of assumptions which stand behind forecast and on-going tracking of actuals performance vs target level
- Constant improvement of forecast accuracy, which drives mitigation of write offs and out of stocks reduction
- Active participation in monthly sales planning process via bringing BAT sales forecast and performance overview to Demand Review Meeting and Sales & Operation Planning Meeting
- Run pre-alignment and follow-up sessions with cross-functions (Trade, Brand, Activation and Supply Chain) to ensure the forecast captures most accurate understanding of trends, and BAT marketing efforts
- Keeping top management well-informed about performance level vs set targets via accurate and on time regular reporting in and above market
- Contribute to the efficient running of the Sales & Operation Planning process (Demand Review)
- Manage all forecasting and volume reporting
- Contribute to the business monthly planning cycle.
- Develop and integrate an improved way of working in the monthly business planning cycle.
- Provide accurate and timely input and participate to the DRM/CPM & SOP meetings
- Provide accurate and timely reporting as required by WE area and Region
What are we looking for?
Experience Required
- Strong communicator, capable of building compelling narratives supported by insights, to a wide variety of stakeholders
- Experience in prioritising tasks, managing workload and working under pressure
- Experience with software (e.g., ERP, CRM, EDI, BI, PowerBI, Nielsen)
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Effective Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent communication & presentation skills
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Notably Excel & PowerPoint)
Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
- Educated at Degree Level
- Strong commercial experience in relevant fields
