BAT UK IS LOOKING FOR A E-RETAIL CONSUMER INSIGHTS ANALYST

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?  

With the mass impact of Covid-19 on the shift of consumer behaviour offline to on and the acceleration needed for NWEA’s strategic leadership agenda (30% of its revenue generated by eCommerce by 2025). This role will be pivotal in building the data & insight, planning and reporting of the D2C channels (physical and online). This role will also require descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytical approaches.  Providing not only KPI performance reporting but deep consumer insights, that help us identify lost revenue opportunities and transform these lost opportunities into actionable insights that drive business and customer value.

Reports to: Area Head of Digital Insight & Consumer Retention

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • We are looking for a numerate, logical individual who is curious about customer data and passionate about creating actionable insights.
  • As a Consumer insight Analyst, you will utilise BAT CRM & M2 sales data & consumer feedback and behavioural website data to develop customer insights that inform the development and targeting of our personalised marketing communications.
  • Your role will involve analysing data from multiple sources to identify audiences for our marketing campaigns, building customer/ campaign segments and working closely with stakeholders to help them understand the drivers behind campaign selections and performance.
  • You will also be translating your findings effectively and presenting them to our business partners, providing insight that helps shape future strategies to improve what we do and drive commercial value.

  • Have you worked with multiple stakeholders in the past?
  • Are you committed when it comes to delivering great service and building relations?
  • Do you have a few years of experienced within a fast-paced customer service environment?

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • A 2:1 degree from a top tier university or equivalent (e.g., data science or, data engineering or Maths/ Statistics, Physics)
  • Experience with analysing customer data, related to eBusiness / online shopping / e-retail.
  • Experience in revenue attribution modelling & CRM KPI revenue reporting.
  • An excellent understanding of commercial drivers, data management & advanced analytics tools such as Micro Strategy, Dataiku, and Power BI.
  • Proficiency in coding languages i.e., SQL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to clearly identify and articulate key insights and recommendations.
  • A passion for working with an array of digital data sources, a desire to deliver insight from it and to bring it to life for those with less technical knowledge.
  • The ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to drive daily contact with business stakeholders

BENEFICIAL

  • Proficiency in coding languages such as R, Python etc.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as PowerBI, Dataiku
  • Experience in targeting, optimisation, or measurement of marketing activity, using Adobe Target or similar.
  • Experience using a relational database
  • Demonstrable record of delivering results in a commercial environment.
  • Expertise in working with large structured and unstructured data sets
  • Experience with data management in a range of CRM systems SFMC, SFSC.
