ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?

The Cloud & DC SRE – Zone 1 role is responsible to ensure stable support operations and service delivery for Data Centre and cloud environment. This role leads all aspects of daily service operations in the AmSSA and US region and works alongside BAT’s key strategic suppliers in ensuring high quality provision of various services to BAT (e.g. application support, network, hosting, etc.). Internally, this role also acts as critical issue point for the region for DC and Cloud environment and interacts with many different partners in IT, across the functions and BAT end market teams as well.

What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?

Solution design/delivery/operations for multiple components and processes within a system. The solutions/platforms have strategic importance to BAT and contribute to our ability to deliver business outcomes.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Help maintain cloud infrastructure in Cloud environment with collaboration with our partners
  • Serve as a primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of our cloud infrastructure
  • Assist in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and installations to new cloud infrastructure our rapid iteration and constant growth.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with "operability" in mind.
  • Participate in a 24x7 rotation for second and third-tier critical issues
  • Monitor and provide input on practices and processes to own and drive the implementation of improvement strategies and plans
  • Lead new business demand and request
  • Handle Third Party Support partners to drive service operation
  • Engagement with Solution Architect to establish service roadmaps
  • Adhere to all BAT standards, governance, and compliance
  • Involve in regulate expenditures, analyse variances, and conduct forecasts to identify requirements useful in preparing annual budgets.
  • Perform IT administration and management duties as part of plans for enhancing IT services.
  • Help planning and implementing the on-prem migrations from local DCs to cloud environment.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

Experience Required

  • 5-7 years post graduate work experience in an IT Services environment and /or business facing IT role
  • Degree Educated in IT or related areas
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, stakeholder management and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment with other Engineers, Product Managers, etc.
  • Experience deploying and configuring infrastructure in any cloud vendor like Azure, AWS and GCP.
  • Breadth of knowledge of standard methodology IT Service Management (ITIL)
  • Proven IT operations, supplier management and service line management experience
  • Global Service Lines – Establishing network and relationships with the various Global service line owners
