British American Tobacco Poland has an exciting opportunity for a Business/Software Analyst  in Warsaw

We are looking for an Business/Software Analyst that will be responsible for fleshing out mobile application requirements within the end-to-end vision and roadmap of Product Owner/Product Manager. This role main area of focus will be performing detailed requirement analysis, documenting requirements and business processes. The Business/Software Analyst will work closely primarily with the Global Product Owner/Product Manager. This position requires high communication skills as it involves multiple collaborators. To succeed in this role, is important to have technical background, experience in agile software development but also strong soft skills such as ability to clearly express ideas, critical-thinking and negotiation

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Elicit and document business requirements with partners using a range of techniques, conducting feasibility studies, usability, requirements, risk, cost and value analysis.
  • Identify and obtain agreement on the requirements / features which will be most beneficial to the business and to the end consumer.
  • Responsible for translating business requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria, capturing these in the Product Backlog and own Backlog Refinement sessions.
  • Provide ad-hoc business analysis and process mapping documentation when required to technical/non-technical team members.
  • Collaborate with all partners and team members in the software development process and business units (e.g., R&D, Product Development, Legal, Marketing) to get all the inputs required to complete requirements analysis. 

What are we looking for?

  • At least 3 years of experience contributing to solution design and development in IT projects.
  • Strong experience in documenting business requirements, refining them, and preparing backlog items.
  • Experience working on customer-facing solutions, including mobile or web-based platforms.
  • Experience in managing relationships and setting expectations with partners at various levels.
  • Exposure to working in complex organizational structures, ideally across multiple departments or regions.
  • Determined and solution-focused, motivated to learn, able to communicate complex concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Familiarity with product development lifecycles, from conceptualization to delivery and post-launch maintenance.
  • Proven ability to deliver clear and accurate business and technical specifications, including user stories, workflow and process maps, ensuring precise communication and alignment between stakeholders and development teams.
  • Knowledge of UML notation and/or BPMN for effective process modeling and system design.

Beneficial 

  • Understanding of XML and JSON structures, with exposure to REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with system integration processes and architecture patterns.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and working within cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and security best practices in IT systems.
  • Exposure to UI design principles and practices, including user experience (UX) considerations.
  • Business analysis certification
