  • Design and management of fundamental research initiatives
  • Ability to manage time efficiently
  • Ability to work cross functionally and support diverse project teams to deliver new solutions
  • Provide technical support for Development and Discovery teams
  • Ability to engage with internal stakeholders and external partners

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience Required:
    • Excellent project management skills for overseeing project timelines and deliverables
    • Design and management of fundamental research initiatives for a range of smokeless and next generation products (experimental design, prototype builds, data analysis and interpretation, analytical data review, product evaluations, etc.)
    • Experience in problem solving and finding solutions to scientific challenges
    • Ability to analyze results, interpret data, and summarize findings for peers and management
    • Ability to work and make decisions with minimal supervision
    • Effective oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
    • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills
    • Ability to engage with internal stakeholders and external partners
    • Proven interpersonal skills of dependability and credibility
    • Strong technical writing and presentation skills
  • Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
    • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Biophysics, Biology; or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience

BENEFICIAL

  • Familiarity with computational modeling
  • Experience with product formulations and/or product stability
  • Prior experience in a regulated consumer goods industry e.g., tobacco, nutraceutical, strongly preferred but not required
