Your ideas shape the future

Our 18-month Global Graduate programme combines a real job with structured development and continuous focus on learning and training. You will participate in the Global Graduate Academy and meet other BAT graduates around the world to broaden your international network, as well as the chance to connect with the leadership team and showcase your potential.

You will join one of our Czech teams through rotations, including an international one. You will discover how our various departments work and gain insights into the business; the products we sell, the markets we operate in, the organizations we compete with, and importantly our customers. It will give you a chance to make an impact on our business and ultimately set you up for a successful career within BAT as a future leader.

Blaze your own shimmering path

Our Global Graduate Programme rotations could look like:

Marketing Programme:

  • Trade Activation / Sales / Operations (End Market level)
  • Brand (Area level)
  • Strategic Planning & Insights or Digital Business Solution

Digital Marketing Programme:

  • End Market D2C
  • Area D2C
  • Digital Business Solutions

At the end of the Programme, Global Graduates would ideally be willing to relocate for their permanent role. This type of mobility could fast-track your career, which can mean potentially moving up the grades and roles faster.

Global Grad Academy

Global Grad Academy is our 2 week flagship leadership training with the Global Graduate cohort across the globe, where you will meet fellow graduates and senior colleagues from across the globe in the heart of the English countryside and at international trainings. The Academy is a great opportunity to connect with fellow graduates from around the world, so you can share your experiences, celebrate your achievements, grow together, and embrace the sense of global community and collaboration that defines us as a business.

Meet some of our Global Graduates

What happened after the program ended and what are you doing now? I was offered 3 options for where my next journey in BAT could lead. In the end, after consulting with my program coach, I chose a position in trade development. I’m in charge of a smaller team of four, which is responsible for the complete presentation of BAT and our products at stores in the Czech Republic and partly in Slovakia. I won't say that this position or the whole GGP is easy; it's not for everyone. However, if you are looking for a challenge that will give you many different opportunities and personal development, you won’t be wrong with your choice.

What are the challenges associated with the GG Program? The whole program is a big challenge, when reading about it, rotating every three months sounds super interesting and fun. On the other hand, it's every 3 months that you are learning a new position, new processes, and tasks you must do, plus you probably get some extra project, so you don't have such a routine job and challenge yourself a bit more to apply your ideas. As a result, this means that you learn your job thoroughly and as soon as you are comfortable enough in it, you slowly move to the next department. Again, if you look at it from a farther distance, during the duration of 18 months, you will really understand how 5 to 6 departments co-exist, how they rely on each other, and you will choose where you want to continue as a Junior Manager. Furthermore, there are young, friendly people who help and support you and leaders who inspire.

What was the most interesting and the most difficult part of the whole program? The rotation in the digital team was the most interesting for me. On the other hand, the rotation in the field, when I worked as a sales representative, was the most challenging for me. I was on the road every day and driving hundreds of kilometers. It may seem funny to someone, but for me, it was a way of overcoming myself, because I was completely new to driving. I am grateful for that experience because, thanks to it, I got to know how business works in practice.
