British American TobaccoCosta Rica has an exciting opportunity for a R2R GL Transactional Finance Analyst in Heredia
As a Fixed Assets & R2R Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of the company’s asset register and accounting records. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end fixed asset accounting processes, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, transfers, and monthly reconciliations. The role also supports the wider Record-to-Report (R2R) team during period-end close, reporting, and audit processes..
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintain and update the fixed assets register in compliance with global accounting policies and local regulations.
- Capitalization requests, ensuring all required documentation is complete and appropriate accounting treatment is applied.
- Perform depreciation runs, disposals, reclassifications, and asset transfers within the ERP system (SAP).
- Execute fixed asset account reconciliations and follow up on reconciling items in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in the preparation of reports related to fixed assets for internal stakeholders and external audits.
- Support the month-end closing process by posting relevant journals and performing balance sheet analysis.
- Ensure all asset-related transactions comply with internal controls and support documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with End Markets, projects, and finance teams to monitor IFRS16 agreements and asset creation.
- Maintain and continuously improve task-level process documentation.
- Monthly reassessments reviews and follow up capitalizations process
- Roll Forward reports
- Expenditure forecasting or asset lifecycle planning.
What are we looking for?
- Education required Accounting or Accounting & Finance (Either one with professional qualification preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Fixed Assets accounting and/or R2R processes.
- Detail oriented, analytical, proactive, and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision
- English at least B1.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)..
- Experience BPC (desirable)
