JOB TITLE: Leaf Finance Analyst
LOCATION: Kandy, Sri Lanka
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
In this role, you will be responsible for managing leaf overheads, processing leaf payments and reconciliations, and managing financial services related to leaf operations—including ACI management and supplier negotiations. Additionally, the role ensures timely completion of management financial reporting, while maintaining robust control and governance in line with the required standards
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Assist the Leaf Finance Manager (LFM) in delivering Leaf KPIs on ISC from a financial perspective through effective management and tracking of overheads (OH).
- Provide financial support for leaf overhead cost management to all budget owners, including CoPlan activities.
- Support the LFM in strengthening the control and compliance environment by conducting planned depot control reviews and spot checks led by the Finance team.
- Track and follow up on the delivery of CTC’s leaf investment targets (CAPEX), ensuring on-time and in-full (OTIF) completion.
- Conduct cost base reviews to mitigate risks to Leaf cost/ISC stemming from inflation, currency devaluation, and shifts in cost drivers.
- Manage the budgeting and reconciliation of Leaf overheads, including actual spend analysis, requiring extensive work across MS applications and SAP.
- Oversee forecasting, costing, and reconciliation of Advance Crop Inputs (ACI) provided to farmers during the tobacco cultivation season.
- Lead petty cash processes, including settlement reporting and oversight of weekly cash counts.
- Process Leaf, ACI, and labor payments by validating depot worksheets, creating and uploading payment files, and ensuring accurate coding of relevant payments.
- Clear open items in bank and general ledger accounts.
- Facilitate and drive Control Navigator reviews, as well as updates to the Leaf Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Lead monthly and quarterly finished goods stock counts and RDL counts, and prepare the necessary reconciliations.
- Manage and monitor Leaf-related compliance controls.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Professional accountancy qualification i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA will be an added advantage.
- Understand the impact of the accounting processes and practices and any changes in accounting standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and coordinate effectively within the DRBU, with stakeholders at varying levels in the organizational hierarchy.
- Able to identify process and reporting improvements and proactively implement solutions.
- Meticulous, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision to contribute to change in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret financial data.
- Strong sense of responsibility and urgency with willingness to grow within the organization.
