British American TobaccoFiedler & Lundgren has an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineering Manager in Malmo, Sweden
In this role, you will lead the Production Engineering Department and the Planned Maintenance (PM) pillar. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all production equipment is effectively maintained through SAP PM, while aligning maintenance activities with spare parts planning and consumption tracking.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Drive operational performance by optimizing maintenance costs, reducing equipment breakdowns, and managing spare parts' inventory to ensure cost-effective, reliable, and uninterrupted production.
- Lead and develop technically skilled teams by driving machine maintenance excellence, ensuring compliance, and actively leading internal and external audits.
- Foster a strong safety culture and ensure full alignment to health, safety, and environmental standards across all team activities.
- Deliver production targets by aligning daily operations with business goals, resolving issues quickly, and ensuring schedule conformance.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying losses, implementing structured problem-solving, and standardizing standard processes across lines.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with collaborators in production, quality, engineering, and supply chain to support new product introductions, system upgrades, and technology standardization.
- Ensure compliance and audit readiness
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in leading production or engineering teams within a manufacturing environment, with solid understanding of IWS or other lean manufacturing systems (especially AM and PM pillars).
- Strong technical expertise in machine maintenance and cost management, with a track record of optimizing maintenance operations and running spare parts' inventory.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and respond to internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with operational and regulatory standards.
- Effective leadership in safety, quality, and performance management, with the ability to coach teams and drive a zero-loss approach.
- Proficiency in SAP PM and familiarity with MES systems, along with intermediate Excel skills and the ability to work with data for decision-making.
- Strong communication and partnership skills in English, with the ability to influence partners and represent the factory in regional forums.
- High level of accountability, problem-solving ability using structured tools and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and organisational change.
- Experience of driving compliance assessment in own department and beyond with successful outcome.
- Comply and implement activities in accordance with the rules of laws and regulations relating to environmental protection, safety at work and fire protection, and internal EHS or Sustainability standards and procedures.
