WE ARE LOOKING FOR A Scientist Packaging Development

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Support initiatives and collaborate cross functionally with Operations, Marketing, Procurement, Engineering and suppliers to commericialize new materials and packaging solutions.
  • Provide support and technical guidance in corporate initiatives, including cost reduction efforts, manufacturing efficiencies and material related issues.
  • Plan and conduct material trials and support machine qualification in manufacturing.
  • Provide support in defining the specification of materials and packaging utilized for commercial production.
  • Support the development of packaging solutions that meet commercial and product requirements.
  • Work with other stakeholders to deliver projects on required timelines while maintaining appropriate project documentation.
  • Provide technical recommendations on packaging structures and materials.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality to support troubleshooting packaging issues.
  • Create and maintain packaging structural drawings.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Technology, Engineering or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of materials such as paper, paperboard, plastics and films.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to utilize sound scientific principles to provide innovative solutions.
  • Fundamental understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and sustainability.
  • Detail oriented and clear communicator of technical information to various audiences.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication, project management and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge and aptitude to create and manage structural drawings in CAD.

BENEFICIAL

  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, ArtiosCAD, or SolidWorks.
  • Working knowledge of printing and manufacturing processes.
