British American Tobacco Bangladesh has an exciting opportunity for Head of External Engagement – Corporate & Regulatory Affairs (CORA)
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the company’s external engagement and advocacy strategy aligned with business and CORA priorities.
- Build and maintain strong, senior-level relationships with government, regulatory, and political stakeholders.
- Shape and influence public policy outcomes on excise, regulation, illicit trade, ESG, and commercial policy.
- Drive high-impact advocacy campaigns and multi-stakeholder engagement across government, industry, and civil society.
- Monitor political, regulatory, and reputational developments to anticipate risks and opportunities.
- Advise senior leadership on external risks, emerging issues, and strategic positioning.
- Partner closely with internal teams to ensure consistent, aligned external messaging and positions.
- Protect and strengthen corporate reputation through proactive issues management and stakeholder engagement.
What are we looking for?
- 10–15 years’ experience in external affairs, government relations, public policy, or regulatory roles.
- Strong track record engaging senior government and regulatory stakeholders on complex issues.
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, taxation/excise, and public policy environments.
- Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Strategic, politically astute, and comfortable operating in fast-changing environments.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
