British American Tobacco United Kingdom has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Finance Manager - IDT in London
Your key responsibilities will include:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Assist in developing financial models and forecasts to support project planning and execution
- Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and actuals in line with group accounting policies
- Contribute to financial reviews and variance analysis to ensure effective prioritisation.
Project Support
- Collaborate with project teams to gather financial data and provide analysis
- Monitor project spend and ensure accurate recording of costs and timesheets
- Support the setup and tracking of purchase requisitions and orders.
Organisational Change
- Develop and implement organisational change strategies to support the adoption of new processes, systems, and technologies.
- Communicate transformation objectives, benefits, and progress to partners.
- Provide training and support to finance teams to ensure successful implementation and sustainability of transformation initiatives.
Process Improvement
- Analyze existing finance processes and identify areas for improvement, demonstrating standard processes and innovative solutions.
- Redesign and optimize finance processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Implement process automation and digital tools to streamline finance operations.
Partner Engagement
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key partners, including senior executives, department heads, and external partners.
- Collaborate with partners to understand their requirements and ensure alignment of transformation initiatives with business needs.
- Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to partners in a clear and concise manner.
- Presentation Quality: Positive feedback on Management Board presentations on clarity, insightfulness, and relevance
Risk and Controls
- Assist in identifying financial risks and support development of mitigation plans
- Help maintain effective financial controls and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
What are we looking for?
- A university degree with an Accounting (ACA) or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated ability in finance, with a focus on financial transformation, improvement in execution for large companies or with a focus on large-scale projects with extensive financial modelling experience
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data including large, complex, and ambiguous data to identify key issues and aid informed decision-making
- Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and risk management.
- Strong understanding of finance processes, systems, and standard methodologies.
- Experience with finance systems and tools, such as ERP software, financial reporting systems, and process automation solutions.
- Familiarity with new technologies and trends in finance transformation, such as AI, machine learning, and blockchain, sophisticated Microsoft tools user (and preferably Visio too)
- Excellent communication (oral and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work optimally with diverse teams at all levels internally and externally
- Demonstrated proficiency in PowerPoint, with a strong ability to create compelling presentations that convey sophisticated financial information clearly and effectively including confidence in working with and presenting to senior management.
- Self-motivated and driven, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Adaptability and resilience, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to upholding the organization's values and principles.
