- Principle Accountabilities
Operations/Professional/Business
- Plan & manage shift operations for processing Green Leaf, achieving targets for daily & monthly MPS, product quality, and yield.
- Track, analyze, and plan to reduce UPDT on the line to meet OEE targets.
- Ensure the execution of all AM processes (CL, CIL, DH) to maintain machine's base condition.
- Improve employee utilization in shifts to meet efficiency goals.
- Handle Green Leaf, packing materials, and packed products efficiently to minimize waste.
- Overhaul one line during the overhauling period to improve product quality, machine reliability, and OEE.
- Implement IWS and ensure the progress of the line through IWS phases.
Management
- Implement and manage improvements by regularly monitoring and analyzing plant performance using standard methodologies to meet departmental objectives.
- Ensure compliance with EH&S standards, QRP, Pulsar, and safety walk processes to foster a safer working environment and safety culture within GLT.
- Implement PI&T standards on the line and ensure compliance with PSC guidelines for material usage.
- Coordinate P&HM standards, monitor beetle count, and take necessary actions. Ensure the building maintenance of the line area.
- Manage high-quality overhauling of one GLT plant within decided time frames to improve plant performance and reduce downtimes.
- Plan effective leave schedules for the line team to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with SOBC and applicable laws.
Leadership
- Engage and motivate the shift team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Recognize and celebrate individual and team accomplishments to nurture a winning culture.
- Develop team capabilities to improve performance.
- Seek continuous learning and development opportunities for self and team members.
- Mentor equipment owners to improve their technical skills.
Relationship
- Establish and maintain cordial relationships with CBA, educating and engaging them in company initiatives.
- Coordinate forums to educate shop floor employees on company performance and various initiatives.
- Foster good working relationships with multiple departments, including Engineering, Finance, HR, PMD, Quality, etc., to drive product quality and efficiency.
Innovation
- Implement process innovations/improvements to drive efficiency with cost-effectiveness.
- Encourage the team to develop new and different ideas for continuous improvement.
- Support and implement process and quality improvement trials and initiatives.
Additional Information
Context/Environment
The GLT Line Lead is responsible for shift operations, aiming to achieve specified targets applying and embedding the IWS philosophy. The plant runs continuously, 24 hours a day, 6 days a week through the processing season. Induction of sophisticated machinery and skill improvement are main challenges affecting delivery, quality, and cost targets. Shifts are staffed by skilled and semi-skilled workforce represented by a CBA, posing challenges due to low worker education base and local unemployment scenario.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 4 years experience in processing plants or maintenance.
- Robust technical knowledge and maintenance skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal collaboration skills.
- Basic problem-solving skills and openness to change.
- Basic computer skills; intermediate Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
- High personal responsibility and accountability for results.
Career Progression
This entry-level management role offers career progression to leading team roles across operations within 18 – 36 months.
Work Schedule
Regular shifts with weekend support as dictated by business needs; minimal travel required. This is a full-time role.
