British American Tobacco Netherlands has an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager in Amstelveen
In a scenario of increasing pressure on the profit pool, driven by excise, clear value-adding plans with regards to trade investment (ROI) & margin optimization are crucial to deliver growth in the market, the KAM will provide support, guidelines, best practices, and leadership to ensure full endorsement of the plans for Netherlands. Hence, effective collaboration with the other departments within Netherlands is critical for the job holders’ success.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Operational / Professional / Business:
- Recommend Strategy in line with company’s strategy operational plan for assigned customers
- Evaluate and drive implementation of Trade activities in key accounts, ensuring trade KPI objectives and profit targets are met or exceeded
- Assess business performance of BAT and competitors in key accounts to enhance effectiveness of developed trade activities
- Develop and implement long-term key account plans to maximise volume, profit and share performance
- Identify issues and define necessary operational changes to implement for key accounts to enhance activity results
- Define an approach for key accounts improvement with a clear understanding of their decision-making processes, strategy and expansion plans
- Identify key opportunities and issues that will affect performance in key accounts
- Management / Innovation / Relationships:
- Identify budget variances and manage key account budget ensuring efficient and effective prioritisation of marketing spent
- Contribute to end market part in two-year plan formulation through making key account resource and programme requirements
- Set strategic direction to key account and lead on required capabilities and values
- Manage direct reports through coaching, motivation, and career development
- Actively assist line manager in achieving overall Netherlands targets
- Network with internal and external stake holders to generate relevant learning for own department
- Gather and generate innovative ideas for enhancing trade activities and develop innovative approaches for key accounts
What are we looking for?
- University degree or similar gained from experience in a relevant role, FMCG experience is a bonus
- More than 5 years trade marketing experience, including key account management
- Proficient in people management and trade
- Strong segment insights and negotiation skills
- Good knowledge of software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Fluent English, Dutch native speaker or equivalent
- Strategic vision and in-depth understanding of long-term business imperatives
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and coach people
- Good communication and able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Drive and commitment to achieve outstanding results
