British American Tobacco Greece has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Finance Executive in Athens
The role’s scope is to work in partnership with the business to support the Corporate Finance Manager with accounting and import tasks, making sure of compliance against external Tax Authorities and internal BAT policies.
At the same time, it supports with the calculation and submission of proper VAT, Excise and Financial Statements & provide assistance in Statutory Audits.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Participation in Month End Accounting Activities, such as reconciliation of various statements, accounts, authorized books, VAT closure postings, calculation of bank commissions and key vendor analysis
- Tax Related tasks, such as annual Transfer Pricing file, declarations to tax authorities and 3rd parties, reconciliation between management books and local statutory, submission of actuarial study data, preparation and monitoring of provisions
- Preparation, reconciliation with SAP and payment of monthly tax withholdings and social security dues
- VAT related tasks, such as calculation and monthly submission to the tax authorities, Intrastat and listing declarations for BAT Hellas
- Statistical submissions to ELSTAT and Bank of Greece
- Cashflow tasks, such as review of short-term cash flow positions and bank statements from all systemic banks.
- MyDATA related tasks such as matching of vendor invoices in AADE through Connectline, preparation of actions for budget holders and clearance of problems, reconciliations and submissions of payables/receivables/expenses
- Calculation and processing of recharges for all intercompany entities, including intermediate recharges of Cyprus and Israel
- Import related tasks, such as processing and preparation of debondings and their proper postings in SAP, along with imports from 3rd countries like China
- Preparation of monthly calculations for payment of excise and VAT on sales for Vapour products
- Preparation of financial statements for fiscal year and support with various external audit related tasks. Assistance in completion of company’s income tax and E3 declarations.
- Other Ad-hoc accounting and reporting related tasks (IFRS16, credit cards, fixed assets, e-stamps, contracts etc)
What are we looking for?
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment
- University Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- A’ class signatory right will be considered a plus
- Relevant experience in Accounting is a must. Experience in Corporate Finance & Reporting is also desirable
- Advanced knowledge of Excel/ Power Point.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of SAP. Experience with other relevant Finance tools & systems i.e. ECOS SoftOne
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. Comfort in engaging with peers, seniors and external stakeholders
- Story Telling: Ability to simplify complex situations through multitasking and stress resilience
