BAT BANGLADESHIS LOOKING FOR A CORPORATE FINANCE ANALYST

LOCATION: Dhaka, Bangladesh
Reports to: Senior Corporate Finance Manager
ROLE POSITIONING & OBJECTIVES
The Corporate Finance Analyst (G33) oversees financial operations, including payments, vendor management, reporting, asset management, and compliance. Key duties include processing payments, supporting SOX controls, reconciling ledgers, assisting audits, and managing assets to ensure smooth transactions and cross-functional collaboration.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT:
1) Payment Processing & Vendor Management:
- Review and confirm weekly batch payments with GBS.
- Process urgent and exceptional payments.
- Handle non-vendor manual payments, including journal vouchers (JVs).
- Follow up on Goods Receipt (GR) and invoice posting issues with GBS.
- Circulate open PO reports and follow up with PO creators.
- Manage vendor clearing and advance settlement activities.
- Ensure all vendor payments, reconciliations, and follow-ups are completed on time.
2) Financial Reporting & Controls:
- Support SOX controls related to down payments, GR-IR, and open PO
- Perform general ledger (GL) reconciliations and SOX assessments.
- Assist in statutory (stat) and group audits, including coordination and requisitions.
- Prepare quarterly financial statements and review decks for management.
- Support board and BAC meetings by preparing financial inputs and reports.
3) Asset & Lease Management:
- Manage fixed assets, including verification and reconciliation.
- Oversee vehicle auctions and asset verification processes.
- Review and assess leased assets, handle modifications, and ensure proper capitalization.
- Process monthly JVs related to IFRS 16 leases and update BPC inputs.
- Ensure accurate reporting and compliance for lease payments and assets.
4) Cross-functional Collaboration & Ad-hoc Support:
- Engage with different corporate and functional teams for financial planning.
- Manage contractual employee finance-related activities.
- Provide ad-hoc support, knowledge transfer, and resolution of financial queries.
- Raise and follow up on MDG, Cherwell, and Tech Deck requests.
- Participate in discussions and meetings with vendors and other business functions.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
1) Supporting Team:
- Provide support to the Finance team members to continuously deliver value and results.
2) Business partnering:
- Identify and assess opportunities for efficiency improvements, and implement them where appropriate; proactively engage across the organization to meet business needs and strengthen relationships.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- A bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized university, with 1-2 years prior experience in finance or accounting firm.
- Possess strong technical and interpersonal skills.
- An ability to work at all levels within the organization & experience in managing senior managers.
- Good communications skills with ability to explain and defend issues with respect to key decisions.
- Ability to establish priorities of key deliverables.
