BAT’s Digital Business Solutionshas an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Finance Managerin Selangor, Malaysia.
The incumbent of this role will be working in the Corporate Finance team for the APMEA – North business unit (Korea). This role sits within the APMEA North CFOM which is anextended end market team sitting in GBS Centre in Malaysia. This manager is responsible for financial forecasting, reporting, and analysis to support senior finance partners and key business meetings, with a strong focus on the Korea market. This role involves collaboration with the Financial Controller, NAA CFOM team, and regional stakeholders, overseeing P&L planning, cash flow, treasury, accounting, and compliance activities. Key responsibilities include driving the monthly SOP process, managing financial risks and controls, and ensuring timely and high-quality completion of all planning and reporting tasks while aligning with DBS goals of standardization and scalability.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Profit & Loss
- Monitor, review, and report key financial indicators to drive business performance and ensure alignment with financial frameworks (SOP cycles, budget reviews, forecasting).
- Lead monthly forecasting and planning processes, support S&OP meetings, and provide financial scenarios and insights to partners.
- Streamline and automate financial processes, ensure SOPs are up-to-date, and support control documentation requirements.
- Work closely with commercial and corporate finance teams, and engage with cross-functional GBS teams for operational improvement.
- Deliver timely and accurate financials (P&L, cash flow, QPR), support ad hoc analysis, and leverage systems like SAP and BI.
- Provide direction to the Corporate Finance team, conduct performance appraisals, and cultivate a high-performance and cost-conscious culture.
- Manage internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and documentation.
Controllership
- Ensure timely resolution of reconciliation issues to mitigate fraud and accounting errors.
- Coordinate accurate and timely financial closing with all relevant finance functions.
- Lead SOx compliance and internal control testing, ensuring timely remediation and compliance.
- Support control navigator exercises and risk register assessments to identify and mitigate potential disruptions.
- Handle audit queries (internal, external, tax, customs) to ensure full compliance and transparency.
Cash & Treasury
- Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly cash forecasts; analyze trends and collaborate cross-functionally to refine projections.
- Improve working capital by managing AR, payment terms, liquidity, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Oversee banking activities, investments, and financing (e.g., factoring), while ensuring sufficient liquidity and optimal returns.
- Report on key cash metrics (e.g., OCF, FCF, AR), prepare monthly BATCASH reports, and deliver ad-hoc analysis.
- Identify risks (e.g., FX, tax, credit) and develop strategies to protect cash flow.
- Drive system enhancements and implement tools to boost efficiency and visibility in cash management through proactive involvement and interaction.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 7–9 years of progressive experience in a global FMCG or corporate finance environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, processes, and the impact of changes in accounting standards.
- Proficient in finance systems and tools, particularly BI/BPC and SAP or their equivalents.
- Established track record in leading projects and enhancing execution, including effective management of remote partners.
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
- Highly analytical, meticulous, proactive, and capable of working under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Strong risk awareness with the ability to design and implement effective internal controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience is required; professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA are highly desirable.
