BAT Malaysia is looking for a Marketing Deployment Manager (GTR).
The Market Deployment Manager plays a key role in supporting the Head of Brand Deployment to achieve operational excellence through the operational deployment of the Consumer Experience strategy across key global locations.
Management of the development executive team and scope, overseeing all activation deployment efforts for GTR across different sales channels globally, applying both online and offline tools. This role focuses on ensuring execution excellence, efficient deployment frameworks, and optimization of the consumer journey touchpoints.
Driving speed to market, MI efficiency, as well as managing global deployment agency relationships and evaluation of all activation initiatives to drive growth in awareness, trials and consumer acquisition with the ambition of supporting GTR’s strategic role of Accelerator to a Smokeless World.

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
Market/Region: Global Travel Retail

Operational/Professional/Business
- Drive operational Excellence, providing global oversight to all activation efforts across Global Travel Retail via POSM and Activation Executives. Provide direction and prioritisation of activation projects based on strategic prioritization and focus markets. Acting as escalation point for any issues raised by Activation Executives.
- Lead the maintenance, upgrade, and deployment of all current and new POSM and permanent furniture in line with BAT GTR’s strategy and CX toolkits.
- Lead the operational development of the project, liaising between external suppliers, customers and internal suppliers to ensure that Operational Excellence and delivery is achieved in line with expectations.
- Deliver Execution Excellence: Lead the deployment of all consumer activations globally across all sales channels. Ensure execution standards are met and continuously improved.
- Framework Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain deployment frameworks to drive speed to market and MI efficiency.
- Consumer Journey Optimization: Ensure that all activation touchpoints across the consumer journey are optimized and implemented to the highest standard to deliver a seamless and engaging experience.
- Agency Management: Oversee global and local deployment agencies to ensure efficient project execution and alignment with brand standards. Conduct regular evaluations of agency performance and manage agency contracts and budgets.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including Brand, Trade, Finance, and Category, to align on consumer strategies and ensure activation goals are met.
- Budget Management: Effectively manage global deployment budgets to enhance return on investment. Ensure all activation initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and with excellence in execution.
- Activation effectiveness evaluation, Ensure effective data collection, analysis, and reporting of GTR deployments to drive continuous improvements, efficiencies in market performance, MI and consumer engagement metrics.
- Global Alignment: Work with regional and local deployment teams to ensure that global brand strategies are successfully activated across key markets, ensuring consistency in brand experience.
Management, Leadership & Relationships
- Lead, coach, and motivate direct report. Demonstrate leadership in order to develop the team and getting them to display full responsibility for their roles in achieving business targets.
- Effective collaborators’ engagement with Brand Team, Finance Team, Trade & Senior Leadership
- Leadership of local and remotely based teams.
- Drive understanding, two-way communication, and buy-in of travel retail activities & strategies with relevant internal business collaborators.
- Collaborate closely with GTR cross functional team members to optimize business performance.
- Ensure GTR governance and policies obligations are met.
- Build a solid and sustainable succession pool.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Qualification in Marketing
- Min 5 Years of experience in Trade Marketing or related field
- Experience with agency management preferable
- Strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and financial competence. Experience in data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to influence stakeholders, both locally and remotely located, across geographies and time zones
- Written and spoken fluency in English (proficiency in another language is desirable not essential)
- Willingness to travel up to 30% globally, overseeing deployment efforts in key markets.
