British American Tobacco Global Travel Retail has an exciting opportunity for an Customer Group Manager in London - Chiswick.
As an Customer Group Manager, you will be at the forefront of setting dynamic account strategies, planning, negotiating, and implementing key initiatives that drive volume, market share growth, and profitability within your patch. You will align with the Global Travel Retail marketing strategy and guidelines, while leading, coaching, and motivating your team to support BAT’s transformative 'A Better Tomorrow' agenda.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Lead the Customer Group for North/East Europe & Africa with a team of 10 (Account Managers, Account Executives, Trade and Finance Executives)
- Handle the achievement of responsible volumes & budget for coverage markets, lead overall customer group account strategy & work with account managers to develop specific account business plans, and lead strategic analysis of own and opposition key brand's performance, via reviewing sales, off-take, own, and opposition brands information.
- Handle commercial agreement negotiations for all key customers and ensure BAT investments are applied in a balanced manner following governance and policies, and improve legitimate volume and value potential of BAT brands in travel retail channels (border shops, diplomatic outlets, ferries, airlines).
- Explore all responsible growth opportunities in coverage markets with key focus on Global Drive Brands and Next Generation Products, and confer with customers and airport authorities to stay abreast of airport developments; evaluate potential opportunities and act to exploit these.
- Recommend and establish engagement strategies and negotiation contact points for accounts under direct responsibility remit.
- Lead, mentor, and empower direct reports. Demonstrate leadership in order to develop the team and getting them to display full responsibility for their roles in achieving business targets.
- Drive understanding, two-way communication, and agreement of travel retail channel strategies with relevant internal business partners.
- Collaborate closely with GTR cross functional team members to optimize business performance.
- Develop & maintain relationships with end market top teams in order to ensure business alignment and drive potential commonalities.
What are we looking for?
- Strong marketing/sales experience in a managerial position, within an FMCG company
- Strong background of large-scale customer management with major key accounts
- Excellent knowledge of Route to Market and experience in route to market reviews is desirable
- Demonstrated analytical, interpersonal, communication (oral and written), negotiation and planning skills
- Solid understanding of all inter-related company functions including Supply Chain, Marketing Finance, IT, Customer Service, Legal, HR and the management of agencies.
- Proven Business and Financial Acumen, and ability to successfully negotiate, influence and present at Senior Management Level (internally and externally)
- Written and spoken proficiency in English.
- Willingness to travel (up to 35% of FTE annually)
