British American Tobacco Bulgaria has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Legal Counsel in Sofia

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide legal advice and support for the company’s business activities and operations;
• Assist in planning and executing day-to-day operations by advising on legal processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
• Manage and revise contracts and agreements entered into by the Company, ensuring they meet legal standards;
• Assist the Head of Legal in managing day-to-day legal tasks and departmental responsibilities;
• Offer proactive guidance to various functions in adopting innovative and legally sound communication methods;
• Act as a compliance officer, ensuring all operations align with internal policies and external regulations;
• Oversee, revise, and maintain the company’s policies and procedures within Legal function to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements;
• Monitor and report on international regulatory changes, ensuring local compliance with regional initiatives.

What are we looking for?

• Law degree;
• Minimum 2 years of legal work experience (ideally in corporate, commercial, or compliance law);
• Understanding of the business environment, particularly in areas like marketing practices, channels, and development opportunities;
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Bulgarian;
• Strong strategic thinking and negotiation skills;
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams;
• Proactive approach with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the legal field.
