British American Tobacco has an exciting opportunity for Payroll Specialist in Taipei, Taiwan
The Payroll Specialist (HR Officer) is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and processing of employee benefits administration. This role is integral to maintaining accurate records, ensuring timely payments, and providing support and consultation to employees regarding compensation and benefits matters.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Preparation and coordination of payroll activities for Taiwan legal entity
- Prepare payroll for Taiwan employees as per agreed payroll calendar, in coordination with payroll service agency
- Responsible for tax reporting, social security and pension administration
- Verify and reconcile payroll reports to ensure data integrity
- Perform monthly payroll and cost recharges of International Assignees
Tax Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant tax laws and regulations and other mandatory deductions
- Prepare and file tax documents, such as employee income tax declarations and company payroll-related tax submissions
- Provide tax guidance to employees and resolve any tax-related inquiries
- Proficiency in tax administration of International Assignees, both in- and out-bound
Data Validation
- Perform employees’ pay validation during annual salary review and bonus cycle
- Support Region Reward team in any payroll related data validation requests
Budgeting
- Partner with HRBP on headcount planning and responsible for total employment cost budgeting exercise
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive records of payroll and benefits activities
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external audit requirements
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, leave entitlements, and wellness initiatives
- Facilitate employee enrolment and ensure accurate record-keeping of benefits information
- Assist in conducting regular reviews of benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance with legal requirements
Employees’ Support:
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and tax matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Educate employees on available benefits and assist with any required documentation.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 3 years experience in payroll administration and tax compliance
- Proficient in local labour legislation, payroll requirements and tax regulations
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Good command Chinese & Conversational in English
