British American TobaccoUK has an exciting opportunity for an Excise Project Manager in London
Excise Project Manager responsible for devising and implementing a proposal to ensure that the AME Region achieves full and sustainable control over excise management and compliance across all entities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop a comprehensive database of business models, excise licences, risks, controls and owners across all AME entities and establish a process for keeping it maintained in the future.
- Support Customs & Excise Technical Standards Manager by driving teams across the Region to embed a highly robust framework of standards, guidelines, policies, controls and procedures to enable delivery of customs and excise compliance across the AME Region.
- Ensure actions from the 2025 end-to-end factory reviews are resolved in the relevant factories and that learnings are shared elsewhere were relevant.
- Work with Group and Functional stakeholders to understand potential weaknesses in warehousing, transport and secondary supply chain exist and where identified support Customs and Excise Technical Standards Manager to develop appropriate standards and controls to mitigate these.
- Establish and implement an approach for testing the efficacy of the design and implementation of excise-relevant processes and controls across the Region, highlighting and triggering remedial action where required.
- Support Customs and Excise Technical Standards Manager to develop training materials, and to deliver training to all levels of the business that are involved in excise-relevant activities; Develop processes to raise and maintain the understanding of excise risk management across the Region.

What are we looking for?
- Relevant experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment.
- Ability to proactively self-manage, set own agenda and develop a fast understanding of a complicated topic across multiple aspects of the business
- Understanding of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically HFM / BI / BPC
- Track record of taking ownership of key responsibilities and delivering on time in full to good level of quality
- Evidence of material and proactive process improvement and enhancement
- History of demonstrating strong interpersonal skills through pro-active engagement and influencing of relevant stakeholders
- Excellent ability to distil technical material into simple, succinct summaries, analyses, explanations and instructions for senior leaders and junior process operators
- Excellent project- and time-management skills
