British American Tobacco (BAT) has an exciting opportunity for an Operator in Fiji.
The Operator has accountability for results, Daily Management Systems (DMS), and organizational health of their module. They are responsible to the performance of their assigned module and equipment. They are responsible for delivering the overall results necessary to achieve the module target by rigorous application of IWS. 95% of individual’s time will be spent on the operating Floor working on the module
Your key responsibilities will include:
Business Accountabilities
- Operate their equipment and Flow to work as needed to meet the business need
- Work with peers to maintain cohesive, responsive, flexible organization
- Perform Daily, Weekly and Major Maintenance for their module and equipment.
- Perform Trouble shooting for the machine in the event of breakdown
- Ensure the Quality of the Products produced.
- Ensure the completion of the daily operation process as required
- Participate in the Shift DDS and Daily DDS meeting (as required).
- Participant in weekly DDS meeting (as required)
- Understand, follow, and insure compliance with QA and HS&E Key Elements. Eliminate Root Cause of any abnormalities
Application of IWS tools / execute standards
- Capability for DMS execution, action plan execution, and maintenance of standards
- Establish standards, document standards and ensure compliance to all standards rolled out on own machine
- Perform Changeover execution per Standard Work Practice at target time
- Support development and lead portions of loss elimination plans using IWS tools
- Develop improvement plan for the assigned equipment’s.
- Development of One point lessons
- Participating in shift DDS process daily to set priorities and report/discuss results for previous 24 hours to prioritize actions to bring losses to baseline:
- Top 3 losses and initial finding
- Process failures/breakdown
- Quality or Safety Incidents
- CO/ DMSs/MP&S
People
- Coaching and training Peers
Requirements:
- At least a trade certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with at least 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work with data and information analysis using Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in MS Words and power-point is required for OPL & Work Instructions
- Adequate knowledge on problem solving skills (5Whys, 6W2H) and general factory standard such as 5S, EHS & Good manufacturing practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with all level of staff
- Able to lead a team and team player him/herself
- Proficient in troubleshooting knowledge on machines (cigarette maker/packer) will be added advantage
- Good observation skills on day-to-day problem impacting the process robustness
- Able to apply and coach DDS integrated troubleshooting guide
- Sense of urgency in executing and follow up of action plans
- Good attitude and self-discipline in time
Working Relationship Internal:
- Communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders on machine performance index
- Work closely with Maintenance Lead, Line Lead, Module Lead and Process Lead
