BAT PAKISTANIS LOOKING FOR A COMMERCIAL FINANCE MANAGER
Contract Type: This is a fixed-term contract role with BAT for one year.
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES:
To provide timely, proactive financial evaluation, information, and advice that enables Trade teams and management to develop and complete effective plans and take informed decisions. To help build strong financial and commercial awareness within the whole Trade function, including an effective internal control environment
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Lead the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring accountability and alignment of key financial metrics.
- Own the month-end closing process, including sales rebate reconciliation and general ledger analysis to provide insights for management.
- Coordinate and lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and plans, ensuring timely and accurate information for performance monitoring.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs and touchpoints, supporting resource allocation and decision-making.
- Partner with the Marketing Leadership Team on profit delivery, cost control, marketing spend, and capital expenditure planning.
- Provide strategic pricing support through simulations and elasticity analysis to guide market decisions.
- Analyze product and brand profitability and offer recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Support strategic initiatives, such as customer investment models, by delivering actionable financial insights.
- Contribute to trade contract negotiations and performance payment decisions using pricing scenarios and customer margin analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and International Accounting Standards while supporting continuous improvement in financial processes.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships by establishing Finance as a reliable business partner and providing consistent, accurate support to all departments.
- Ensure financial discipline through timely reporting, budget tracking, and implementation of key financial controls.
- Contribute strategically by adding value to the S&OP process, managing projects effectively, and supporting ad hoc business needs.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE
- Degree educated in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance, preferably with a professional qualification (CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA/MBA).
- 5+ years of experience in dynamic, matrixed organizations, ideally within large global companies or FMCG sectors.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing small teams, alongside strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal abilities.
- Stronganalytical and strategic capabilities, including data analytics, business modelling, project management, and the ability to communicate complex information.
- Proficient in SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint, with a proactive, detail-oriented approach and a continuous drive for improvement and adaptability to change.
