British American Tobacco UKhas an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Finance Manager in London
In this key role, you will play a central part in managing corporate finance operations across the UK and Ireland. You will be responsible for financial planning, management reporting, statutory compliance, and audit coordination, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout. By driving process improvements and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and external partners, you’ll enable informed strategic decision-making and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating budgeting and financial forecasting, including preparing Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasts to meet profit and operating cash flow targets.
- Leading month-end closing processes in compliance with GMAPP and GCLOCO, ensuring accuracy in management reporting and delivering financial targets.
- Ensuring timely completion of statutory reporting and tax requirements, including reconciling UK GAAP and Group IFRS.
- Overseeing risk assessment and maintaining a robust control environment, driving compliance with Control Navigator and SOx requirements.
- Optimizing Balance Sheet management to release cash, maintaining liquidity, and producing accurate direct cash flow forecasts.
- Managing overall P&L position, identifying and implementing cost control and savings initiatives.
- Leading external audit processes for UK and Ireland, managing preparation and sign-off of financial statements within audit timelines.
- Fostering strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, maximizing engagement with finance teams, tax authorities, and auditors.
What are we looking for?
- A Corporate Finance professional (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach.
- Proven experience with SAP, Excel (advanced), and SAP BI/BPC forecasting and reporting tools.
- At least 5 years’ experience working in multinational companies, combining strong financial expertise with sharp commercial insight.
- Deep knowledge of IFRS and modern accounting practices, with the ability to apply them confidently.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to engage and influence both finance and non-finance teams across functions.
- A collaborative team player who drives positive change and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend effective solutions.
- Preferred experience in digital finance tools, business intelligence, or data analytics to boost finance performance.
