British American Tobaccohas an exciting opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager in Athens, Greece
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
As Regional Sales Manager you are responsible for your Region’s field force in Greece with 3-4 Area Sales Managers and 30-40 Trade Marketing Representatives.You will be accountable for developing and ensuring agreed performance objectives and setting strategic direction for the field force.
As Regional Sales Manager you will have 3-4 Area Sales Managers as direct reports. You will therefore be accountable for equipping and developing them to manage and develop own teams and contribution to local trade performance and collaboration both within the trade organization but also cross-functional across BAT. To be successful in the role, you must be able to lead and motivate your team, think strategically and act on commercial KPIs – therefore, you must be able to navigate in a challenging regulatory environment and ensure success across our portfolio .Additionally, it is essential that you have in-depth knowledge of, as well as solid practical experience from, a similar role in a sales organization combined with the necessary strategic and commercial understanding. Likewise, it is crucial that you have a good understanding and experience of the role's financial responsibilities related to P&L, are skilled in oral and written communication, and have good interpersonal skills.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for Regional Field Force strategy, performance, and development in accordance with performance objectives. You will drive the commercial agenda and be responsible for the relevant budget.
- Management responsibility of direct reports (development of Area managers, manage tasks in annual cycle eg. Feedback sessions etc.).
- Responsible for the development and performance of the region’s Distributor, and for building and maintaining strong relationships with them.
- Member of the Trade leadership team, you will be collaborating with the National Sales Manager who will also be your direct manager.
- Develop and implement effective sales plans to deliver on ambitious commercial targets, deliver results through people and deal with the management of crucial projects.
- Define must-win capabilities in an ever-changing environment and secure information flow between Field Force and back office.
- Contribute to the development of FF through active participation in recruitment of new team members in the Field Force.
- Conduct mandatory regular field visits with Field Force to ensure the proper setup of the market.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in people management, especially in managing other people managers
- 5-6Y of Retail/ Sales/ FMCG experience (preferred experience from both field and back office)
- Strong commercial and strategic understanding and thinking
- Project management skills and experience
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- P&L responsibility
- Digital capabilities or experience within Business Intelligence and Analytics. Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Cross functional knowledge as a basis of collaboration and cooperation
- Fluent in English and Native in Greek language
- University Degree in Business Administration or another related field
