Factory Manager (m/f/d)

British American Tobacco Germany has an exciting opportunity for a Factory Manager (m/f/d) in Bayreuth.

What are your main responsibilities?

  • Management of the plant and logistics site to achieve the set goals while ensuring the delivery of the required goods of the highest quality at optimal costs
  • Together with a team of managers, prepare and implement a strategy that aims for long-term sustainable growth and benefits in the supply chain
  • Meet volumes according to demand planning for volume and delivery time while increasing productivity to optimize costs
  • Monitor, measure and lead the IWS (Integrated Work Systems) program to continuously improve productivity and effectiveness at the site and in the supply chain
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements at the site regarding labor law, health and safety, excise duties and services
  • Effective and efficient use of existing company resources in terms of personnel and budgets (investments and ongoing operations)
  • Ensure the implementation of key HR processes to retain employees, develop and maintain a healthy talent pipeline to build a high-performance culture
  • Further development of the site to achieve ESG goals
  • Regularly holding meetings with team members to communicate monthly results, company news & changes, projects and discuss action plans for the next month
  • Manage manufacturing EHS, business controls, risk, policy adherence and statutory / legislative requirement
  • To maintain a professional and well-motivated team, ensuring appropriate training and development to ensure succession for all key positions, promote coaching and champion people development – ensuring a self-sustaining organization
  • Manage and develop excellent relationships with industry and regional functions to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage

What are we looking for?

  • An operations leader being mobile and interested in leading a factory but being open for further development in the BAT Operations function
  • Overall business knowledge, ability to think and operate strategically, recognizing where the best benefit is to be found for Regional Operations
  • Sound knowledge and experience of the IWS processes, tobacco processes and manufacturing and complex Supply Chain organizations
  • Knowledge of raw materials and product in general
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence key stakeholders, and motivate large numbers of people
  • Industry professional with at least five years of experience in Operations
  • General experience in factory management, new technologies and methods used, supplier relations and machinery acquisition
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Up-to-date financial management skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships working across national boundaries
  • Competent in the management of information technology used in manufacturing
