British American Tobacco Costa Ricahas an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Finance Assistant Manager in Heredia

This role supports the Trade Finance team with in-depth analysis, budget management, and control of specialized channels and other trade related lines. The person will be responsible for reconciling, analysing, and generating insights to support business strategic discussions. The role is expected to support decisions that may impact BAT’s profit, such as own retail, travel retail, vape shops, and Specialty Markets . This position requires the ability to multi-task, set priorities, and work under time pressure, as the person will be joining a fast-paced environment and a very dynamic team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Report financial statement lines related to specialized channels with accuracy, on time, and in full, as per the IBPM calendar (P&L & Balance Sheet).
  • Support the monthly review meeting with analysis and identify risks and opportunities to be presented to the end-market Trade Finance Leadership team.
  • Managing the execution of the E2E P&L for Overseas and Specialty Markets, providing visibility, analysis and reporting progress. Being a key business partner and point of reference to bring knowledge on how it is executed to senior management.
  • Support Quarterly Total customer investments analysis.
  • Guarantee that internal controls are executed and maintained.
  • Provide input into the monthly management deck to be shared with Trade Marketing teams across the US.
  • Ensure ad-hoc requests are managed on time, respecting the set of priorities and business as usual (BAU) deliveries.
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote commercial-driven discussions as well as execute process optimizations, improving business performance.
  • Help identify initiatives that have a business focus and are commercially viable.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Accounting or related.
  • Experience with data analysis, finding common trends and deviations and understanding how to process a manual journal entry (JVU) and be able to raise requests through workflow and e-flow.
  • 3+ years of experience managing budgets, forecast and financial modeling based on large databases, including BPC-embedded pulls.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • SAP ECC, BPC and Excel strong knowledge.
  • Team player, collaborative, and with strong self-awareness to float through conversations at different levels of the organizational hierarchy.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment, self-driven and proactive with strong business partnering skills.
  • Power BI, Salesforce and MicroStrategy knowledge are a plus.
