PURPOSE STATEMENT

Leads and manages SMD teams to successfully achieve all production goals in line with CBN. Optimizes the use of personnel, raw materials, and equipment to further enhance departmental productivity and flexibility.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Management of production processes:

  • Ensures that the SMD cell produces the required quantity of products on time with the specified quality, all in accordance with production plans.
  • Ensures the implementation, execution, and development of the IWS (Integrated Work System) working method, all in accordance with defined plans and IWS development levels.
  • Continuously improves key departmental KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and develops a model for continuous improvement (CI). For example, ensures the development of action plans and their execution, resource optimization, waste reduction, increased productivity, flexibility, etc.
  • Ensures the implementation of all EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) requirements and safe work practices in accordance with legal regulations and company policies.
  • Ensures the achievement of quality goals and resolves consumer complaint-related issues (CoCo/CuCo) through action plans (Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventive Actions).
  • Effectively manages departmental costs and assets within the agreed budget. Participates in the preparation of the HC (Human Capital) plan and Opex (Operational Expenditure) plan.
  • Ensures the implementation of effective corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Proposes developmental and investment (Capex) projects.

Human Resource Management:

  • Maintains a professional and highly motivated team.
  • Ensures proper training for all positions within the team (e.g., Safety, Quality, Asset Management, etc.).
  • Promotes learning, work, and development (defines development plans and individual goals, all in accordance with CBN - Company Business Needs).
  • Develops a culture of openness supported by change management principles - ensures that the organization is prepared for changes and innovations.
  • Regularly holds meetings with team members to communicate monthly results, upcoming changes, projects, and discuss action plans for the next month.
  • Identifies talent and ensures their growth.
  • Provides regular feedback to team members regarding goal achievement and personal performance.
  • Plans the required number of employees, overtime hours, annual leave, etc.
  • Plans and develops a successor and ensures good coverage/succession for all other critical roles within the team.

 Other:

  • Innovation is key to ensuring business development; ensures that ideas are generated, explored, and pursued.
  • Develops and implements best practices, common platforms, shares experiences/knowledge with other functions and factories within the operation.
  • Acts as an ambassador for BAT towards official parties and all stakeholders, if necessary.
  • Respects all activities specified in the processes and regulations, as well as the Company's procedures, especially those of one's own department/function.
  • Carries out all other activities in accordance with the needs and requirements of the employer.
  • Accepts training and professional development as needed, whether at the local level or beyond, in order to acquire professional qualifications and/or enhance skills and abilities in accordance with the company's decision.
  • Critically evaluates their own function and suggests ways for improvement.
  • Proactively evaluates standard procedures and refers them to superiors for review and proposes improvements.
  • Possesses the ability to lead people in an effective and motivating manner in accordance with the legal framework.
  • Adherence to the local legal framework, internal standards, rules, and procedures of the BAT Group.
  • Execution of all other tasks delegated by the superior.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I.        Knowledge, experience, skills

Education and work experience

  • Education: A technical degree with proven experience in production management and leading large teams.
  • Good knowledge and experience in tobacco processes and cigarette production.

Functional knowledge, skills and capabilities

  • Knowledge of EHS standards and policies.
  • IWS qualification and knowledge (according to the plan).
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of raw materials and the product in general.
  • Knowledge of factory information systems.

Leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that influence key stakeholders and motivate a large number of people.
  • Capable of leading and managing changes within their own area.

II.        Success Factors

  • Achievement of defined KPIs (e.g., OEE, MTBF, and scrap rate).
  • Compliance with the production plan.
  • Staying within the defined budget.
  • No Quality or Safety incidents.
  • Proposals for process improvements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of the production team (in accordance with defined plans)

III.        Working relationships

Internal

  • Close relationships with factory departments: Planning, QA, Engineering, Logistics, HR
  • Relationships with colleagues at BAT's other factories in similar roles

External

  • Equipment and service suppliers necessary for production
  • Connection with local and international suppliers/contractors for materials and machinery
