British American TobaccoMalaysiahas an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Controls Analyst in Selangor
This role is responsible for assisting End Markets with their compliance to BAT’s Standards of Business Conduct. This would involve supervising and reporting on their progress on compliance Key Performance Indicators, suggesting corrective actions, providing supporting training and documentation, as well as presenting progress, issues, and opportunities to management. Provide mentorship to collaborators on legal compliance topics as well as conducting and controls reviews. This role will provide direct support to End Markets in delivering a robust compliance 1st Line of Defence which supports its Standards of Business Conduct and instils/champions a value of delivering with integrity. Whilst ensuring the highest level of integrity in the way business is conducted, deliver value to business through compliance controls monitoring, reporting, data/information transparency, and good governance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supervise compliance key performance indicators (KPIs) and report outcomes with suggested corrective actions to End Markets (EM) for compliance areas, including ongoing sanctions screening, Third Party Anti-Financial Crime risk assessment, Policy Management, and Gifts & Entertainment (G&E) requests.
- Manage Third Party Anti-Financial Crime risk assessment, including conducting company structure deep dive analysis.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to Policy Management processes and procedures.
- Oversee and review Gifts & Entertainment (G&E) requests, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Engage directly with collaborators to carry out monitoring, reporting, and remediation activities for compliance areas.
- Present monitoring reports (dashboards) at End Market governance meetings to inform stakeholders.
- Provide process mentorship to End Markets on G&E, policy management, and Anti-Financial Crime risk assessment, and assist with processing requests for approval deviations from Third Party Anti-Financial Crime Procedures.
- Conduct process and systems training on G&E, policy management, and Anti-Financial Crime, while acting as Super User for tools like Coupa Risk Assess (CRA), G&E Tracker, and Policy Management System App, offering first-line user support and participating in user acceptance testing.

- Experience engaging with a diverse range of collaborators across multiple cultures.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly digitized, tech-savvy environment.
- Proficient in using data interrogation, management, analytics, and reporting tools.
- Some relevant experience in compliance, monitoring, and reporting.
- Strong business engagement skills with the ability to deliver training to both small and large audiences.
- Skilled in business analysis and working within multi-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across teams.
- Advanced skills in analytical tools, including SQL, MS Excel (e.g., building macros, using V-Lookup), PowerBI, and PowerPoint.
- Certification in data interrogation/management/reporting (e.g., SQL, Excel Macros, Power BI), training, communications, compliance, or auditing.
