British American Tobacco Romania an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Finance Manager – Treasury in Bucharest, Romania
This role reports to the Senior Corporate Finance Manager and assists the reporting developments team and Treasury. It supports the Group’s efforts to implement process changes and accounting/compliance improvements across its UK, US, and South Africa listings. The role will focus on implementation and execution of process change with specific focus on treasury products and financial reporting (net finance costs, leverage and quarterly cadence).
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Accounting Conversion – supporting the reporting developments team lead on financial instruments and derivatives and hedging to impact assess existing operational processes and documentation (retrospectively and prospectively) as compared to , proposed accounting standard changes under IFRS and U.S. GAAP, focusing on Fair Value, Cash Flow and Net Investment Hedging and any other ad hoc request.
- Documentation – supporting the implementation of changes to documentation and documenting process/ control changes to meet IFRS and U.S. GAAP compliance aligning with internal partners such as Group Reporting, Global Treasury Operations, IT and FP&A.
- Systems – Assisting in documenting the business requirements for future compliance both tactical and strategic.
- Treasury Processes – Assisting in the review of Treasury processes alongside compliance requirements and formulating impact assessment.
- Supporting design and compliance of the SOX controls relevant to Treasury.
- Responding to end market request for financial accounting and treasury-related technical and administrative support, limited to matters governed by IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
- Preparation of policy updates to incorporate changes in process and responsible for timely communication to partners impacted.
- Liaising with internal interested parties such as Group Statutory Reporting Team, Group Treasury Operations, Statutory Reporting Team, Tax team, Legal team, FP&A, auditors to ensure smooth running of day-to-day activities.
- Other ad-hoc as requested by the Senior Corporate Finance Manager – Treasury finance or the Senior Corporate Finance Manager – Reporting Developments
What are we looking for?
- Degree educated with professional accountancy qualification (i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA).
- A good understanding of group and corporate finance principles/experience and ability to deliver commercial insights in a constantly evolving area of the business.
- A good understanding and experience with treasury instruments and processes (e.g. Derivatives, hedge accounting, factoring, supply chain finance, and quarterly reporting.)
- Ability to manage a high volume of data and present in a simple, innovative and impactful way using all current systems to simplify and automate information management. (i.e. SAP/ BI/BPC/CFIN experience)
- Possesses good understanding of IFRS standards (particularly IFRS 9, IAS 32, IFRS 7) and U.S. GAAP relevant to treasury accounting for a multinational company (Latter is a strong plus but not essential, can be taught).
- Ability to prioritise and is resilient, to identify process and reporting improvements and proactively implement solutions.
- Ability to work independently managing partners across a wide range of locations.
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required to influence and challenge.
- Maintains excellent working relationships with all collaborators and is a standout colleague.
