Role Positioning and Objectives
Reports to: KRSustainability Manager
Function: Operations
Location: South Korea
Key Accountabilities
1. Operations / Professional / Business
- Support Engineering staff on plant wide project such as PMD, SMD, Quality, Facility equipment, etc. for EHS matters
- Provide EHS service on PMD, SMD, Quality, Engineering, including maintenance programs
- Support ESG & Waste management such as waste recuse & recycling and reduction in waste generation
- Lead and support nicotine management controls in the facility with Health Officer
- Lead and support chemical management regulations (chemical control act. and K-REACH, etc.) with Engineering, SCM, etc. department.
- Support to implement operations EHS management systems, programs and procedures as per BAT policy / local legal requirements to achieve the EHS policy objectives and targets
- Lead and support Serious punishment act. to comply with local requirements
2. Management
- Manage & Control EHS equipment based on BAT EHS policy & local EHS requirements
- Prepare report through global programs
- Coordinate of the training for the Depts` supervisors.
- Documentation & analysis of near miss, unsafe behavior / condition and incident reporting
- Co-ordinate EHS activities, of the factory and review periodically for compliance and progress such as PPE, waste materials, MSDS, safety GEMBA, EHS training, EHS committee, etc.
3. Leadership
- Control the contractors & outsourced vendor to achieve the take and project in EHS manner
- Provide guidance and motivation to management in implementing procedures and solutions that reduce the impact of relevant activities, including recommending improved work practices, alternative materials, and new or modified equipment.
4. Relationship
- Maintain good relationship with PMD, SMD and Other departments in Operation to provide the technical service in a timely manner
- Co-ordinate the technical activities, factory EHS committees and working groups
- Maintain good relationship with MOL, MOE, KOSHA and other EHS related governmental bodies.
5. Innovation
- Maintain & drive EHS road map (internal review) program to seek and execute EHS improvement
- Maintain EHS management system such as update of local EHS SOP annual to reflect local legal requirements
- Drive new EHS and ESG initiatives—such as digitalization—to enhance the sustainability culture within Operations.
Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- A background in 4-year university major in EHS or a related field
- Preferably 5-year or over operational experience in EHS fields
- Competent in computer skill and the use of the company standard software packages
- Strong knowledge & experience of EHS legal process (Industrial safety & health act, Serious accident punishment act. chemical control act. and K-REACH, etc.)
- Good knowledge of all functions of the company`s operations
- Understand the overall process related to tobacco excise and the BAT guidelines on import & exports
