British American TobaccoVietnam has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Manager.
Lead the manufacturing organization to achieve world-class Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale and Capability results through deployment of Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Integrated Work Systems (IWS), people capability development and effective management of manufacturing resources.
The role owns the development of equipment ownership culture, elimination of forced deterioration, creation of defect-free processes, and capability building of front-line teams to achieve sustainable manufacturing performance and zero-loss operations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Business
Manufacturing Performance
- Deliver annual production plan and manufacturing targets.
- Achieve SQCDM objectives (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Morale).
- Drive improvements in OEE, MTBF, productivity, waste reduction and manufacturing cost.
- Ensure stable and reliable production flow through effective resource management.
Autonomous Maintenance & Operational Excellence
- Lead deployment and sustainability of Autonomous Maintenance (AM) across all production areas.
- Drive implementation and maturity of: Clean, Inspection and Lubrication (CIL), Defect Handling (DH), Centerline Management (CL), Equipment Ownership
- Ensure equipment is maintained at base condition and operates with minimum losses.
- Lead progression of manufacturing teams through AM maturity steps.
- Establish visual management and operational standards.
Continuous Improvement & Loss Elimination
- Identify and eliminate chronic manufacturing losses.
- Reduce: Minor stops; Breakdowns; Human interventions; Process waste; Reliability losses
- Lead structured problem-solving and root cause elimination.
- Drive operational excellence, productivity and cost improvement initiatives.
Key Business KPIs: Safety, Production Attainment, OEE, MTBF, Waste, Manufacturing Cost, Quality Complaints, AM Audit result
People
Leadership & Culture
- Build a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Lead through visible shop-floor presence and coaching.
- Demonstrate a "Learn – Do – Teach" leadership approach.
- Foster continuous improvement and zero-loss mindset.
Capability Building
- Develop operators, technicians and team leaders into highly skilled equipment owners.
- Build technical capability in: Equipment inspection, Defect identification, Problem solving, Machine CL, AM practices
- Drive implementation of skill matrices, qualification systems and development plans.
Talent Development
- Develop succession plans for critical manufacturing roles.
- Coach and mentor front-line leaders.
- Build future manufacturing leaders through structured capability programs.
- Ensure continuous growth of technical and leadership competencies.
Engagement & Collaboration
- Create an environment of teamwork, engagement and high employee involvement.
- Partner effectively with: Technical Services, Engineering, Progressive Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, Human Resources
- People KPIs: Skill Matrix Completion, Qualification Progression, Succession Readiness, Ownership Behaviors, Daily Management Compliance
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or Business Administration.
- Minimum 8 years of manufacturing experience. Minimum 5 years in a production leadership role. Experience in FMCG, Tobacco, Food, Beverage, Pharmaceutical or Automotive manufacturing.
- The successful candidate should demonstrate strong knowledge of Manufacturing & Operational Excellence (Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Production Systems Management)
- Structured Problem Solving specifically to the Root Cause Analysis, Why-Why Analysis, PDCA, Data Analysis
- Proven experience managing large production teams: Workforce Planning, Productivity Management, Budget and Cost Management and the Manufacturing Resource Optimization
- Proficiency in SAP, MS Project and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
