Ceylon Tobacco Company has an exciting opportunity for a Leaf Field Officer in Kandy, Sri Lanka
As a Leaf Field Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our tobacco production targets. You will have the opportunity to work closely with farmers, offering them mentorship and support they need to thrive.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Identify productive areas and farmers to meet tobacco production targets while allocating crop inputs according to agreed operational and financial objectives.
- Provide continuous guidance and training to farmers, ensuring timely support and full loan recovery during the season.
- Manage depot operations, including administration, labour, materials, and the BAT Leaf system.
- Maintain a strong safety culture with zero LTIR, lead field-level EHS initiatives, and ensure full compliance with BAT EH&S policies.
- Accurately collect and report ESG data across the supply chain while encouraging safe working conditions for all farmers.
- Promote sustainability by deploying strategies on biodiversity, natural resource management, and the use of sustainable wood sources.
- Safeguard farmer and worker rights by preventing child or forced labour and promoting fair practices.
- Implement programs on crop diversification, women and youth empowerment, CPA management, and livelihood enhancement in farming communities
What are we looking for?
- BSc in Agriculture/Diploma in Agriculture or any other relevant qualification
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in the field of Agriculture
- Sound communication and influencing skills and the ability to effectively collaborate internally and externally
- Knowledge on EH&S Policies, Guidelines and Best Practices
