ROLE SUMMARY
What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
The Commercial Finance Analyst supports the delivery of commercial and marketing strategies by providing robust financial
analysis and oversight of budget utilization across assigned categories. Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, this
role plays an integral part in supporting effective resource allocation, supervising marketing investments, and ensuring strict
budget management.
The role works closely with Category, Marketing, and area teams to assist with planning cycles, forecast submissions, and
performance tracking. The Commercial Finance Analyst supports scenario modelling, evaluates marketing spend effectiveness,
and helps ensure that investment decisions are aligned with market and area priorities.
In addition, this role contributes to the preparation of financial inputs for cases, consolidates marketing investment
data, and ensures the accuracy and consistency of financial assumptions. The Commercial Finance Analyst provides
dependable financial support that enables sustainable growth across both traditional and New Categories, while building strong
analytical and business partnering capabilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Financial Forecasting & Performance Support: Support the preparation of forecasts and perform routine variance
analysis, ensuring data accuracy and highlighting key drivers of performance. Provide clear financial insights that help
Category and Marketing teams understand budget utilization and performance trends
• Marketing Investment Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of marketing spend effectiveness, consolidating data and
identifying patterns that support informed resource allocation decisions. Provide timely insight to help optimize
marketing investment deployment.
• Total Customer Investment (TCI) Management: Assist in the tracking and reconciliation of TCI across retail
customers by maintaining accurate data and reporting. Support evaluations of investment outcomes to ensure
alignment with commercial and marketing priorities.
• Commercial Strategy Support: Partner with Category and Marketing teams by supplying financial inputs for business
cases, planning cycles, and investment evaluations. Provide analytical support for scenario modelling and help ensure
marketing and resource decisions align with area objectives.
• Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, dashboards, and templates used for
tracking budgets and marketing investments. Support compliance with internal governance and control requirements
by ensuring documentation and processes meet required standards.
• Collaboration and Partner Support: Work collaboratively with business partners to deliver required analysis,
resolve data issues, and provide routine financial updates. Support the Commercial Finance Manager in delivering
clear, reliable information to cross functional teams.
What are we looking for?
• Proven track record of P&L management
• Strong business and commercial acumen with understanding of market dynamics
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to articulate financial performance and variances.
• Understanding of consumers, customers, opportunities, and risk to drive business growth.
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting, Financial Analysis, or relevant area.
