British American Tobacco Indonesia has an exciting opportunity for a Leaf & Primary Quality Manager in Malang, Indonesia.
This role is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems within the Primary Manufacturing and Operations function. The incumbent will ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, quality governance, and supplier quality performance while driving a strong quality culture across the factory. The role also provides leadership to the site Quality Assurance and Quality Control team, supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead and oversee the site quality management system to ensure compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and quality policies.
- Drive product quality performance and implement initiatives to reduce quality risks, vulnerabilities, and non-conformance incidents.
- Manage Quality Assurance and Quality Control operations, including laboratory activities, product release processes, and quality monitoring.
- Ensure effective supplier quality management and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address quality-related issues.
- Monitor quality performance indicators, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Build and develop a high-performing quality team through coaching, capability development, and succession planning.
- Support new product introductions and manufacturing changes by ensuring quality requirements are incorporated and effectively controlled.
- Promote a strong culture of quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the factory.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Food Science, Chemistry, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- Min 2-3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing Quality, or Product Quality Management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, quality governance, compliance requirements, and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience in supplier quality management, quality risk assessment, and corrective and preventive action processes.
- Knowledge of process improvement tools such as DMAIC, IWS, root cause analysis, statistical quality methods, or Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience supporting new product introduction, process validation, or manufacturing change management activities.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing technical teams within a factory environment.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
