British American Tobacco Singapore has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Treasury Assistant Manager - APMEA in Singapore.
Drive execution of the global treasury strategy within own area of responsibility.
Act as a Treasury business partner to the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) business and above-market trading companies.
Identify treasury risks, co-ordinate and manage the delivery of Treasury services, reporting and advice in areas such as external financing, credit facilities, banking relationships, funding, capital structures, interest rate, Foreign Exchange (FX) liquidity management, treasury compliance and cash & banking solutions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Act as a proactive business partner to identify opportunities for enhancing treasury effectiveness and commercial results
- Execute global Treasury strategy across the APMEA region, such as:
- Lead the execution of treasury related projects, including global and above-market initiatives.
- Advising on all aspects of treasury management.
- Optimise cash repatriation from end-markets to the Centre.
- Solving problems of FX deficits and trapped cash in the end-markets, including the navigation of economic crisis situations
- Support working capital initiatives. Enhance visibility and support the improvement of working capital.
- Ensure the cashflow forecast reporting is delivered to the required quality
- Support the structuring and execution of market exits / simplifications.
- Support the on-going review of end-market capital structure and funding, recommending and managing changes as appropriate, and including obtaining the relevant delegated authorities.
- Support the funding renewal process for end-markets.
- Support the digital treasury & banking agenda.
- Manage FX exposures across the Region and advise on appropriate actions.
- Consistent with the Treasury Strategy, drive the centralisation of treasury transactions
- Promote and lead a philosophy of continuous improvement and treasury management best practice.
- Coordinate compliance to global Treasury policies and standards.
- Co-ordinate delivery of Treasury related reporting and ensure it is delivered to the required quality.
What are we looking for?
- Financial, Mathematical or Science-based degree with related professional qualification (i.e. ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ACT). AMCT qualified or equivalent, or significant progress in qualification is preferred.
- 3+ years PQE (in accounting, corporate finance or treasury) in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment
- Knowledge and experience in treasury management, including:
- Knowledge of identifying and measuring foreign exchange and financial risks in supply chains, trading models and corporate structures.
- Knowledge of the range of foreign exchange derivative instruments and the practical application.
- Knowledge of the accounting principles for foreign currency denominated transactions, derivative instruments, and funding structures.
- Knowledge of different debt and equity funding structures and the practical application, including the accounting and corporate tax principles.
- Understanding and knowledge of relevant finance/Treasury tools and systems (SAP Treasury)
- Strong analytical skills, rational decision making / problem solving
- Continuous improvement and able to challenge the status quo.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and keep to tight deadlines
- Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to describe treasury risk/financing scenarios and present recommendations to senior management to enable decision making.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build an effective network with the teams across the Region and the ability to influence
