British American Tobacco Fijihas an exciting opportunity for a Manager - Secondary Manufacturing Departmentin Suva.
The Line Lead is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and consistent production of quality products. This role leads frontline teams, drives operational performance, resolves production issues, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. The position spends significant time on the production floor coaching employees, developing team capability, and ensuring production targets, safety standards, and quality requirements are achieved.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, safety, and efficiency targets.
- Monitor production performance and ensure adherence to production plans and operational standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve equipment performance.
- Lead problem-solving efforts to identify root causes of recurring operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct and lead daily operational review meetings, providing direction and ensuring achievement of performance objectives.
- Coach, develop, and support team members to strengthen technical skills, operational knowledge, and overall performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while reviewing incidents and implementing preventative measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver business objectives, projects, and operational improvements.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing or production supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing operational teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational excellence principles.
- Familiarity with workplace safety, quality management, and factory operating standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with enterprise resource planning systems is an advantage.
